*2022/23 NBL Ladder Correct as of end of 18-Round Regular Season – table courtesy of Wiki
Held from October to the following April during the summer, the annual NBL competition comes to a thrilling conclusion in a best-of-three Grand Final series. The path to the NBL Finals is determined over a regular season that consists of 126 games and the finals series that is played between the four clubs that finish top of the NBL ladder or table after they’ve played al of their home and away gmes for the season.
While all four clubs at the top of the NBL rankings make it to the finals, there is extra incentive to finish first and second on the National Basketball association ladder as these top two teams get the home advantage in their respective best-of-three finals series.
Teams are awarded points for each win and the more wins they collect the higher up the ladder they sit. As well as NBL team rankings a detailed season ladder often displays other basketball season statistics on each club including:
- Games Played (Pld)
- Number of Wins (W)
- Losses (L)
- Last 5 Record (Last 5)
- Winning / Losing Streak (Streak)
- Home Record (Home)
- Away Record (Away)
- Points For (For)
- Points Against (Against)
- Overall Percentage (%)
- Winning Percentage (Win %)
Over the season the ladder is updated after the NBL results each round and has a big impact on the NBL betting odds each week.
Teams higher up the rankings are obviously shorter in the NBL odds for the season’s Outright NBL Championship Winners as well as in head-to-head NBL betting for their next match.
Punters enjoy access to plenty of other basketball bet types that directly relate to the NBL ladder – the Australian pro-basketball equivalent of the NBA Standings – including odds on teams to ‘Make the Top Finals’ by finishing top four at the conclusion of the regular season.
