Matchday 3 of the 2015/16 UEFA Champions League has the potential to both make and break the campaigns of several clubs over Wednesday and Thursday mornings this week.
Wednesday morning’s UEFA Champions League fixtures will see key Group H rivals Zenit St Petersburg and Lyon face off in Russia but the headline match is undoubtedly that between Arsenal and Bayern Munich in London.
We’re offering the best odds on the widest range of markets for all UEFA Champions League Matchday 3 fixtures!
Valencia vs Gent
Consistent Spanish outfit Valencia square off with Belgian side Gent on Matchday 3 of the Champions League. Gent remain anchored to the bottom of Group H having played out a draw and a loss in their first two fixtures and have to win this match if they are any chance of progression, but probably face too great a task.
Dynamo Kiev vs Chelsea
Dynamo Kiev were held to a draw in their campaign opener this year but responded well with a comfortable win over Group G minnows Dynamo Kiev a fortnight ago. Chelsea are yet to hit peak form in the Champions League but remain only one point off the pace thanks largely to the similar form of their rivals. Kiev in the Ukraine is a tough task for even the most polished of opposition, but Chelsea tend to keep their best football for Europe and are capable of a draw
Radosav Petrovic scores and Kiev wins: $17
Diego Costa scores and Chelsea wins: $5
Arsenal vs Bayern Munich
Arsenal have interestingly lost to both Olympiakos and Dinamo Zagreb in their first two Champions League fixtures this time and face a monumental task in reversing their fortunes against Bayern Munich. The Gunners will be hoping to carry their competitive Premier League form into the match, but Bayern generally do not have an issue travelling and shouldn’t be beaten on Wednesday morning.
Alexis Sanchez scores and Arsenal wins: $8
Thomas Muller scores and Bayern wins: $4
Bayer Leverkusen vs Roma
In what has every likelihood of figuring as one of the better games of Matchday 3 of the UEFA Champions League, ever-dangerous Germans Bayer Leverkusen host Roma on Wednesday morning. Both sides are fighting for progression behind Barcelona in Group E and the result of this match could play a pivotal role in progression.
BATE Borisov vs Barcelona
Transversely, Wednesday morning’s UEFA Champions League match between Belarussian side BATE Borisov and Barcelona could produce the biggest score line of Matchday 3. BATE mustered a huge effort to defeat Roma a fortnight ago but will be outclassed by the Spanish giants this week.
Dmitri Mozolevsky scores and BATE wins: $31
Neymar scores and Barcelona wins: $2.50
Porto vs Maccabi Tel Aviv
Portuguese outfit Porto welcome Maccabi Tel Aviv to the Estadio do Dragao for Matchday 3 of the Champions League. Porto have played two matches for two wins and sit comfortably atop standings in Group F, while their Israeli opponents have played two for two losses, and do not look like curbing that trend away from home this week.
Dinamo Zagreb vs Olympiakos
Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb were absolutely demolished by Bayern Munich a fortnight ago but remain a chance of progression to the knockout phase of the Champions League thanks to a classy win over Arsenal on Matchday 1. Olympiakos have also managed to beat Arsenal to remain level on points with Zagreb, and this match will be key in deciding who advances. We’re confident Zagreb can get the job done at home, and represent great value for money in win-draw-win markets.
Zenit St Petersburg vs Lyon
This match has the potential to decide who tops Group H and who does not qualify for the knockout phase of the Champions League. Zenit are yet to taste anything but success through their two matches this campaign, while Lyon almost have to win to stay alive, particularly if Valencia beat Gent in the other Group H fixture. The way these two teams have been playing in their respective domestic competitions suggests a draw is the likely outcome.
