The 2016 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes final field and barrier draw has been released and the Group 1 event at Caulfield on Saturday is set to be an absolute ripper.

Extreme Choice has done nothing wrong during his racing career to date and he is set to start the Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes as a clear favourite, despite being allocated barrier 13.

The Not A Single Doubt colt made his racing debut with an underrated effort in the Inglis Nursery (1000m) at Royal Randwick on December 12 at Royal Randwick on December 12 and he stamped himself as Blue Diamond Stakes favourite when he dominated his rivals to score an impressive win in the Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes (1000m) at Caulfield on February 6.

Extreme Choice’s closest rival in Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes betting is Flying Artie, who was also allocated an outside barrier and will jump from gate after the emergencies are removed.

Mick Price has always been of the opinion that Flying Artie has just as much talent as Extreme Choice and the juvenile justified that decision when he sat three wide, but was still able to finish strongly to take out the Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) at Caulfield on February 13.

Talented fillies Concealer and Samara Dancer were the big winners of the 2016 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes barrier draw this morning and they are the only other horses available at single figure Blue Diamond Stakes odds.

Concealer stamped herself as a filly to watch when she made her racing debut with an impressive victory in the Emirates Airline Plate (1000m) at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day and she lost no admirers when she ran impressive closing sectionals after missing the start in the Group 2 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Fillies Prelude at Caulfield on February 13.

Samara Dancer got the better of Concealer in the Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Fillies Prelude and landed a big plunge for punters, but trainer Phillip Stokes admits that the daughter of Hinchinbrook will need to improve to take out the Group 1 event this weekend.

Miss Nymeria rounded out the placings in the Blue Diamond Fillies Prelude and there has been some support for the talented filly to turn the tables on her rivals this Saturday, while Star Turn is the only other horse available at a quote less than $20.

The Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes is a race with a long tail and the betting market is rounded out by Valliano ($26), Power Trip ($26), Zamzam ($34), Revolving Door ($34), Hell Of An Effort ($41), Sweet Sherry ($41), Hey Doc ($51), Areti ($51), Selenia ($51), Seaburge ($51), Highland Beat ($81) and Kinetic Design ($151).
