Daily Racing Tips – Monday 14th March
Morphettville - Race 1 1.03pm AEDT
No. 4 Viddora
Viddora returned to the races with a fast-finishing third at Moonee Valley and she arguably would have won if she hadn’t bombed the start probably would have won. She should be able to settle closer to the speed here and last preparation she improved significantly from first-up to second-up. Looks to have more upside than the rest of this field and should prove tough to beat.
Morphettville - Race 2 1.38pm AEDT
No. 2 Dam Ready
David Hayes has set Dam Ready for this race and based on his victory at Moonee Valley on February 19 she looks to have a clear edge over her rivals. The horse he beat comfortably last start has since gone on to win in a dominant manner in Adelaide and Hayes is keen to send him to Sydney for a race like the Sires Produce Stakes.
Morphettville - Race 8 5.20pm AEDT
No. 1 Éclair Choice
Éclair Choice has been poor in both the Rubiton Stakes and Oakleigh Plate, but he is a sprinter that has shown in the past that he is capable of spring boarding off what look on paper to be poor performances. If he can recapture his form from the 2016 Spring Racing Carnival then he will prove very tough to beat and at $6 he is one of the best value bets of the day. The favourite Lord Aspen is a quality horse and has a great first-up record, but he is too short against this kind of company.
Moonee Valley - Race 2 2.00pm AEDT
No. 11 Wazamba
Wazamba has trialed in very impressive fashion in the lead-up to her racing debut and she looks to have an edge over the horses with exposed form here. She should get a lovely run just behind the speed and if she is able to live up to her trials she will take a great deal of betting. Keen to lock in the $4.40 available this morning.
