Gold Coast - Race 4 1.40pm AEST
No. 6 Imposing Lass
Imposing Lass is a talented filly on the road to the Queensland Oaks and she looks to have plenty of scope for improvement. Her last two victories at Warwick Farm and Rosehill Gardens have been excellent and she looks as though she will relish the step-up in trip. If she takes a step forward again, she will prove very tough to beat.
Gold Coast - Race 7 3.40pm AEST
No. 7 It’s Somewhat
It’s Somewhat is the best value runner anywhere in Australia this weekend. He beat home Hauraki in the Hollindale Stakes and before that he was excellent in both the Ajax Stakes and the Neville Sellwood Stakes. He will get a great run in transit with Damian Browne in the saddle and he is an outstanding each-way bet.
Gold Coast - Race 8 4.20pm AEST
No. 1 Takedown
Takedown is yet to produce a poor performance this preparation and it was only Japonisme and Counterattack that beat him in the Arrowfield Sprint. That form line is easily the strongest coming into this race and on that performance he has a clear class edge over the rest of this field. If he turns up at anywhere near his best, he will prove very tough to beat.
Morphettville - Race 6 3.50pm AEST
No. 6 Silent Sedition
Silent Sedition has had the perfect preparation for the Australasian Oaks and she will prove very tough to beat. I loved the way that she found the line in the Auraria Stakes and that performance suggests that she will have no trouble running out a strong 2000 metres. Williams will have plenty of options from barrier seven and she is the horse to beat.
