Scone - Race 2 12.55pm AEST
No. 4 Hogmanay
Hogmanay drops back in class after two good efforts in strong form races at Canterbury and Warwick Farm. He will now be at peak fitness third-up and if he is able to take even just a small step forward from those performances he will be very hard to beat. Rory Hutchings is riding with plenty of confidence and the wide gate should be an advantage.
Ipswich - Race 5 1.55pm AEST
No. 1 Yoho
Yoho has a number of high-rating performances on his racing resume and he returns to the races in a very winnable race this afternoon. He has not missed a placing in any of his three previous first-up starts and he will make his own luck right on the speed. He has a great record at Ipswich and he ticks plenty of boxes heading into this race.
Geelong - Race 5 2.30pm AEST
No. 5 Motown Blues
Motown Blues does not win out of turn, but he finds himself in a very winnable race this afternoon. Thete was plenty of merit in his last start performance behind the talented Rich Charm and he has previously performed well in his starts on the synthetic. Ben Allen jumps on and if he is able to replicate his recent form, he will prove too strong for this field.
Geelong - Race 9 4.30pm AEST
No.10 New Summer Night
New Summer Night is the class horse in this field and there has already been plenty of money for the Manhattan Rain filly. She was excellent at Geelong two starts ago and she was arguably unlucky not to make it two wins on the trot last start. She won her only previous start on the Geelong Synthetic and she is the only horse in this field with any real upside.
