Race 1 - 3:19pm
Crown Towers Plate (1000m)
Badge Of Courage comes through a strong form race first-up and he is a horse that still has a great deal of upside. He makes his own luck right on the speed and I like the fact that he will be dropping back to 1000 metres. There is every possible chance that he will prove too quick for his rivals in this race and he can get punters off to a winning start.

Amelia Park Lamb Handicap (1600m)
This is a very competitive betting race and there are a host of winning chances. I am not particularly keen to get involved in this race. Star Exhibit, Outlaw Pete, Pounamu and Settlers Creek can all go very close in this race if they bring their best form and there are simply too many chances to bet with any real confidence.
Race 3 - 4:34pm
Avenue Q Handicap (1500m)
Astronomite is a horse that I have a very big opinion of. He has proven costly this preparation, but there is no doubt that he is a better horse than his last start performance suggests. On his best form he has a clear class edge over the rest of this field and he maps to get an absolutely dream run into this race with Will Pike in the saddle.

Race 4 - 5:14pm
JJ Richards & Sons Handicap (1200m)
Lenience does not win out of turn, but this is a nice race for him. He has been thereabouts this preparation without winning and if he is able to perform at that level again he will be right in the finish of this race. Brad Parnham should be able to control the race right on the speed and he will be very tough run down late.

Race 5 - 5:55pm
Crystal Slipper Stakes (1100m)
This is a tough race for punters as a number of the runners in this field will be making their racing debuts. Even out of the brigade that have previously raced, there is not a great deal between Keeper Keen, Cool Intrigue and Metallic Queen. A very tough race for punters and one that I am willing to stay out of.
Race 6 - 6:35pm
Listed Tattersall’s Cup (2100m)
The Tattersall’s Cup is always an open betting affair and this year’s race is no exeption. There is one horse that stands out at their current price and that is Kirov Boy. I like the fact that he has already had two race starts over this distance and he is a much better horse than his performance at his last start suggests. He is more than capable of bouncing back to his best form at a juicy price.

Race 8 - 8:00pm
Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m)
The Winterbottom Stakes is always an interesting betting race and the 2016 edition is no exception. There is no doubt that Terravista and Malaguerra are the horses to beat in this race and they are deserving of their positions as clear favourites. The question is whether either of them represents value at their current price and in my opinion the answer is no.
The only horse that does represent value at their current quote is Takedown. He was a touch disappointing in the L’Oreal Paris Stakes on Crown Oaks Day, but he had genuine excuses in that race. Before that his form had been excellent and I like the fact that he will be dropping from 1400 metres back to 1200 metres. He makes his own luck right on the speed and he is over the odds at his current quote.

Race 9 - 8:40pm
Get The Touch Handicap (2100m)
A tough way to finish the day for punters. Big Red Costa has been racing well this preparation and he returned to winning form with a strong performance last start. This is a tougher challenge, but he still has the upside to improve on that performance and if he improves just a touch he will be very tough to beat in this race.
