2017 Miracle Mile Night Preview

Race 1 - 6:20pm

Group 2 Miracle Mile Drivers Invitational (2400m)

This is an interesting way to start the night for punters. The market has zeroed in on Match Point and All Eyes On Us. Both horses are fairly inconsistent performers, but it is All Eyes On Us that looks to have the most upside in this race. He loves this trip and he is more than capable of returning to winning form.

2.5 Units Match Point

Race 2 - 6:47pm

Group 2 Lady Drivers Invitational (1609m)

Express Stride and Don Boston both take winning form into this clash and I am happy to back them both. Express Stride has been excellent this preparation and he has previously performed strongly over this track and distance, while Don Boston ran excellent time when he won over this track and distance at Menangle last start.

1.5 Units Don Boston

Race 3 - 7:15pm

Group 1 NSW Oaks (2400m)

The New South Wales Oaks looks like a race in two between Partyon and Petacular. Partyon is yet to suffer defeat and she has proven throughout her career that she is a very tough filly. She is proven at this distance and she is more than capable of continuing the unbeaten start to her racing career.

5 Units Partyon

Race 4 - 7:47pm

Group 1 Ladyship Mile (1609m)

Our Dream About Me is one of the shortest-priced favourites of the night, but I am willing to take her on at the current price. There is no doubt that she is a talented mare, but this is easily the toughest race that she has contested during her career to date. The two horses that stand out at their current quote are Frith and Cyclone Kate. Frith does not win out of turn, but she is as honest as they come and she rarely runs a bad race. Cyclone Kate won over this track and distance last start and she is a much better chance than the current price suggests.

Race 5 - 8:18pm

Group 1 NSW Derby (2400m)

It is all about Vincent in the New South Wales Derby betting market and he will prove very tough to beat. He has not looked like getting beaten in any of his recent race starts and he cruised to victory in the New South Wales beat. He has drawn perfectly and he looks like one of the safest bets of the evening.

Race 6 - 8:47pm

Group 1 Free For All (2400m)

The Free For All is another race in which I am keen to take on the favourite. There has been plenty of money for Tiger Tara, but he does not win out of turn and it is tough to get him as short as the current price. One horse that does appeal at a juicy price is Allblack Stride. He is an inconsistent performer himself and he has been outclassed in his past few starts, but this is a more suitable race for him and he has an excellent record at Menangle.

Race 7 - 9:32pm

Group 1 Miracle Mile (1609m)

This is set to be one of the most thrilling editions of the Miracle Mile in recent memory. Lazarus has stamped himself as one of the most talented horses in the world with his wins in the Victoria Cup and Chariots Of Fire and he is clearly the horse to beat. Of all the leading contenders he is best suited over this trip and he should simply prove too quick for his rivals. One horse that is worth a small bet at the current price is Salty Robyn. Salty Robyn has been racing competitively this preparation and he has an excellent record over this track and distance. The $5 available for him to finish in the placings is massive overs.

1.5 Units Salty Robyn To Place

Race 8 - 10:15pm

Group 1 Gold Trotters Cup (1609m)

The Gold Trotters Cup is one of the most open betting races of the evening and there are a couple of roughies that appeals at very big odds. Consistency is not a strong point for Rompers Monarchy, but she is capable of a big performance on her day and shouldn’t be such a big quote. Prince Fearless failed to fire last start at Bendigo, but his form before that was more than good enough to win this race.

Race 9 - 10:45pm

Anything For Love is another very short-priced favourite that I am keen to take on. He has not won any of his past three starts and it is impossible to get him as short as his current quote. The same can be said about Katy Perry and it is Blazin N Cullen that is the value at his current price. It is fair to say that his best days are probably past him, but he won over this track and distance earlier this year and on his best he has a class edge over the rest of this field.
