Newcastle - Race 3 1.50pm AEST
Base Camp has raced well without winning during his racing career to date and this is his opportunity to breakthrough for a maiden race win. He had no luck whatsoever last start at Newcastle and he chased home subsequent Champagne Stakes runner-up Whispered Secret at the start before that. He makes his own luck right on the speed and will be very tough to beat.
Newcastle - Race 4 2.25pm AEST
Hinchman did plenty wrong at Wyong last start and was still able to fight to the line fairly in what looks likely to be a strong form race. There is no doubt that he should take plenty of benefit from what was a tough run and he will take up the running with Josh Parr in the saddle. He will take plenty of running down at a nice price.
Newcastle - Race 5 3.05pm AEST
Exclamation has joined the stable of Mark Newnham after making his racing debut for Godolphin. There was nothing wrong with his form in Victoria last preparation – he was unlucky not to have a better winning record – and his recent barrier trial win at Warwick Farm suggests that he is forward for his return to racing.
Newcastle - Race 7 4:15pm AEST
Medaille was never able to get into the race when she returned to the races in the PJ Bell Stakes and this is a significant step-back in class. Brenton Avdulla has an excellent record at Newcastle and he won’t be afraid to put the filly right in the race. This is the easiest race that she has contested during her racing career to date and may never have a better chance to return to winning form.
