The Valley - Race 1 12.25pm AEST

No. 9 Spanish Reef

Spanish Reef has been extremely consistent during his winter campaign and there is no reason that she can’t return to winning form. The drop back in distance will suit after a freshen-up and she should be able to take up the running comfortably. The lead is where you want to be at The Valley on Saturday and she will be tough to get past late.

The Valley - Race 5 2:50pm AEST

No. 1 Russian Revolution

Heatherly and Houtzen will ensure that there is plenty of early tempo in the McEwen Stakes and that could set the race up for Russian Revolution, who will be camped right on the speed. He sat on a hot pace to win The Galaxy first-up in the Autumn and he is a horse that is capable of a very high-rating on his day.

The Valley - Race 8 4.50pm AEST

No. 5 He’s Our Rokkii

He’s Our Rokkii really does tick all the boxes in the Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes and he can book his place in the Ladbrokes Cox Plate. He finished a nice fourth in the P.B. Lawrence Stakes and the form coming out of that race stacked up in the Memsie Stakes, while he maps to get a lovely trail into this race just behind the leaders.

The Valley - Race 9 5.00pm AEST

No. 3 Stampede

Stampede will be better over further, but that is the case with a number of the runners in this field. He has won over 1400 metres and 1600 metres in the past and he was most impressive during his winter campaign. Beau Mertens should be able to get him across from the wide barrier draw and he will be very tough to run down late.

The Valley - Race 5 2:50pm AEST

No. 1 Russian Revolution

Comes here first up from the Snowden yard and first-up last preparation he won The Galaxy – a Group 1 race up in Sydney. He looks primed first-up and I think he will be very hard to beat.

The Valley - Race 8 4.50pm AEST

No. 5 He’s Our Rokkii

He ran a terrific race fresh up in the PB Lawrence Stakes at Caulfield – he finished just behind Black Heart Bart and beat home Tosen Stardom. Those two horses finished 2nd and 3rd in last week’s Group 1 Memsie Stakes! He looks hard to beat in the Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes this afternoon.
