Mornington - Race 4 2.10pm AEST

No. 3 Falika

Falika returned to the races with a credible performance behind Oregon’s Day and Swampland in the Chandler Macleod Plate and this is a genuine drop back in class. On her best form she does have a clear edge over the rest of this field and the booking of Damien Oliver is a positive sign. This is her chance to return to winning form.

Canterbury - Race 6 3.45pm AEST

No. 6 Piracy

Piracy recorded an impressive win over a strong field at Wyong last start and he is a horse that still has plenty of improvement left in front of him. Kerrin McEvoy can press forward to take up the running from the wide barrier draw and if he is able to do that he will be very tough to run down late.

Canterbury - Race 7 4:20pm AEST

No. 11 Mahalangur

Mahalangur contested the Ming Dynasty Quality in what was just his second race start and he was far from disgraced in fourth. This is a genuine drop back in class and if he is able to replicate that effort he is clearly the horse to beat in this field.

Canterbury - Race 8 4.55pm AEST

No. 3 Almost Court

Almost Court has recorded three impressive wins on the trot since being sent to Australia and he has improved each time that he has been stepped up in distance. This is a big step-up in quality, but he is a tough stayer that makes his own luck right on the speed. McEvoy has dominated these staying contests in recent weeks.
