Daily NHL Tips – Friday October 6th
Buffalo Sabres vs Montreal Canadiens
Montreal Canadiens to Win @ 2.20
Day two of NHL action for the 2017 gets underway as ‘Les Habitents’ visit some of North America’s craziest fans in Buffalo. Montreal were a strong force on the road last season posting a 23-14-4 record and did not lose in regulation on the road in October last year. Still smarting after being upset in the playoffs last year, the Canadiens are a good pick to start the season off on a good note here.
Boston Bruins vs Nashville Predators
Nashville Predators To Win @ $2.63
Boston is in an interesting situation as they prepare to host the defending Western Conference Champions in the Nashville Predators. Their roster appears to be a few years off from being a genuine Stanley Cup contender. Unfortunately it looks like (at the time of writing) they will be without their best player in Patrice Bergeron who is injured and listed as day to day. With that in mind, the Predators are top to bottom the better play here and they get a big road win early.
Ottawa Senators vs Washington Capitals
Washington Capitals To Win @ $2.10
Nathan Walker will become the first Australian to play for an NHL. He is joining a roster with one of the most talented players in the league with Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals. They are expected to be in a tight contest with the Ottawa Senators who are banking on an older than average roster to get the job done. It won’t be the case here though as the Capitals get off to a good start with a comfortable road win.
Los Angeles Kings vs Philadelphia Flyers
Los Angeles Kings To Win @ $1.95
Philadelphia got their season off to a great start with an opening day win over the Sharks but even early in the season those back to back games are tough, especially away from home on the west coast. The Kings struggled for goals last year and the have added some young players that can get the puck on goal. This is not quite the same Kings lineup that went to multiple Stanley Cups but they are certainly still good enough to do the job against the Flyers.
