Flemington - Race 3 2.05pm AEDT

No. 1 Cliff’s Edge

Cliff’s Edge won with plenty of authority last start at Caulfield and he should only improve when he steps-up to 1800 metres. He is a horse with a great deal of upside and he is well and truly over the odds at the current quote of $6.50. I doubt that price will last and I would be locking it in now before the money comes.

Flemington - Race 6 3:50pm AEDT

No. 4 Leather’N’Lace

Leather’N’Lace has recorded three wins on the trot and she is clearly the horse to beat in the Edward Manifold Stakes. She bolted in to win last start at Caulfield and she meets a similar field in this contest. The wide barrier draw shouldn’t be an issue as she has the tactical speed to press forward and take up the running.

Flemington - Race 8 4.10pm AEDT

No. 9 Missrock

Missrock always needs luck in running due to her racing style, but she is the class horse in this field. She was only narrowly beaten in the Let’s Elope Stakes and she has form around a number of the most talented horses in the country. This is her chance to return to winning form and she is great value at $5.50.

Royal Randwick - Race 6 3.35pm AEDT

No. 3 Viridine

Viridine has improved each time that he has been seen at the races and the way that he won the Heritage Handicap suggests that he still has plenty of improvement left in him. This really isn’t the strongest edition of the Roman Consul Stakes and if he can replicate his last start effort he will be very tough to beat.

Flemington - Race 6 2:40pm AEST

No. 6 Silent Sedition

Silent Sedition is one of my black book horses – I always back her and she normally doesn’t let me down. Spieth looks hard to beat, but Silent Sedition flies fresh. In what I think will be a very quick straight race, she will have too much speed for her rivals late.

Flemington - Race 8 4.10pm AEDT

No. 9 Missrock

Missrock is a quality mare in what looks like a race in which she doesn’t have a great deal of quality opposition. She will get the last crack at them in the straight and if jockey Ben Melham can avoid trouble in the run she should be powering home/
