2017 Bledisloe Cup 3rd Test Preview
The Rugby Championship is in the books for 2017, but the Wallabies still have one more clash with the All Blacks before they make the trip to Great Britain for their Spring Tour.
There is no chance that the Bledisloe Cup will finally return to Australia after the All Blacks won their two meetings during The Rugby Championship and New Zealand won all six of their fixtures during the tournament.
Can Australia beat New Zealand for the first time since 2015 or will the All Blacks continue their dominance?
We have analysed both teams and our 2017 Bledisloe Cup tips can be found below!
Saturday 21 October, 8:00pm, Suncorp Stadium
Australia made a very slow start to their Rugby Championship campaign and they were flogged by New Zealand in their opening Bledisloe Cup clash in Sydney, but they have improved significantly since.
The Wallabies almost scored an upset win over the All Blacks in Dundedin and they have not lost since – they drew with South Africa on two occasions and recorded two wins over Argentina.
Suncorp Stadium has been a happy hunting ground for the Wallabies in recent years and they have even played well against the All Blacks at this venue.
The All Blacks won their most recent clash in Brisbane in 2014 by a single point and the two sides played out an 18-18 draw in 2012, while the Wallabies were even able to beat their rivals at Suncorp Stadium in 2011.
New Zealand really don’t have a great deal to play for in this clash and it would be a surprise if they put the Wallabies to the side like they did South Africa during the Rugby Championship.
It would take a braver man than me to bet against a New Zealand victory, but the Wallabies can be in this clash for a long way and they can cover the line with a healthy start of 13.5 points.
