There were plenty of punters cheering for Rekindling in the final stages of the 2017 Melbourne Cup, but none more so than one of our punters who was able to claim the Melbourne Cup trifecta.
A number of punters went extremely wide in their Melbourne Cup exotics and still didn’t find the winner – myself included – but this punter zeroed in on three horses and he got the race spot-on.
This punter obviously listened to Lloyd Williams in the lead-up to the Melbourne Cup as he had Rekindling as his top selection and the banker in this very skinny trifecta.
He was unable to split Caulfield Cup placegetter Johannes Vermeer and 2015 Melbourne Cup runner-up Max Dynamite and this pair rounded out his trifecta.
This punter got the race exactly right, but if Johannes Vermeer had been able to hold-off Rekindling in the final stages of the Melbourne Cup he would have been kicking himself for not simply boxing his three sections.
In the end it worked out extremely well for our punter and the best part is that he received even greater winnings thanks to Odds Boost Exotics!
