Race 1 - 12:17pm

QTIS 2yo Handicap (1100m)

Shamurt was a Doomben winner on debut and looks the one to beat again in the opening race on 2018 Weetwood Handicap Day. The Tony Gollan trained filly should only be improved with the race day experience and Jim Byrne takes the ride again. First starter Taveuni was an impressive barrier trial winner on her home track at the Sunshine Coast as was another debutant The Palms winning a barrier trial at the Gold Coast. The report on the Ben Currie trained first starter Cuddle Me Tight are good and the filly has been installed as the short priced favourite at Ladbrokes.com.au.

Race 2 - 12:52pm

Class 3 Plate (2000m)

Local filly Hinchinstyle has found winning form of late with a maiden victory on her home track followed by a win over 2040m in Saturday three year old grade at Doomben. The Ben Currie trained filly is well down in the weights and will only have to carry 52.5kg courtesy of Emma Ljung’s 2kg claim and has a great chance to rack up a hat trick of wins. Shuda Known Better, another local trained on the track by Lindsay Hatch, is also chasing a hat trick following wins at Toowoomba and Ipswich. Nordic Show is another with two recent wins on the board at the Gold Coast while the Tony Gollan trained High Wind and Chris Waller’s Great Glen will appreciate the drop back in class.

Race 3 - 1:27pm

F&M BenchMark 75 Handicap (1300m)

The lightly raced Chris Waller trained Another Dollar hasn’t missed a pay cheque from three race starts with a win and two placings and heads up the range following a freshen up after finishing third in a 1615m Doomben 3yo Handicap and has Jeff Lloyd to help her chances. The locally trained She Is Fierce is yet to win on her home track but gets her chance this week as she chases a hat trick following two wins at the Gold Coast. Reward For Fashion has some solid form for a race like this but has plenty of weight to carry and goes up 6kg to 60kg following her last start win over 1200m at Doomben. Hold On has some terrific provincial form with four wins from his last four starts, the last two on his home track at Toowoomba, but will be facing his toughest task to date.

Race 4 - 2:02pm

BenchMark 80 Handicap (1625m)

The Chris Waller trained Estikhraaj is dropping back in class and distance following a last start fourth in open company at the Gold Coast and only goes up 2.5kg and has great chance to break through here. Locally trained Gully Command is a winner over the same course and distance as Saturday’s contest but goes up 6kg on his last start fourth over 1630m at Doomben. Red Prince, Elsaray and Congelator are all winners over the mile trip at Toowoomba.

Race 5 - 2:42pm

Class 6 Plate (1100m)

Mr Marbellouz is chasing his fifth win on the trot and the Toowoomba speedster is the one to beat again even though he has drawn the car park. The Kevin Kemp trained four year old should have enough early speed to cross from a wide barrier and apprentice Jag Guthmann-Chester’s 2kg claim will come in very handy. Publishing Power chased home Mr Marbellouz at Doomben and does meet the top weight 3kg better for being beaten two and a quarter lengths. Impregnable is resuming and had winning city form last prep and has a good first up record. The Tony Sears trained Live Fast is a winner of the same course and distance as Saturday’s race and heads back to his home track following a win at Doomben over 1050m.

Toowoomba Guineas (1625m)

Eagle Farm trainer Robert Heathcote holds the key here with two of the top chances in Trommelschlagen and Zofonic Dancer. Trommelschlagen goes up 3kg for winning over 1350m at Doomben last start while Zofonic Dancer drops 1kg after finishing third in the same race, three quarters of a lengths behind his stablemate. Local three year old Hang a close up fifth behind the Heathcote pair and was a Doomben winner at his previous start. Heathcote will also saddle up Foxy Affair who is stepping up to Saturday class after wins at Doomben and the Sunshine Coast.

Race 7 - 4:02pm

Toowoomba Cup (2000m)

First Crush, Honey Toast and Morendi crossed the line together with only a neck separating them when first, second and third in a 2030m Doomben Handicap last start and it wouldn’t surprise to see a repeat of that finish in the Toowoomba Cup. Doubt Defying has worked his way up through the grades and is chasing his fourth win on the trot coming off a last start win over 1800m at The Gold Coast. Get On The Grange has fair southern form and the distance won’t be a worry. The Chris Waller stable will saddle up Exoteric who has won two of his last four starts.

Weetwood Handicap (1200m)

Raido arrived at long double figure odds to win the 1200m Goldmarket at the Gold Coast and will be one of the main chances again in the Weetwood Handicap. Raido is one of three runners from the Tony Gollan stable and the premiership winning trainer will also saddle up Sheiswhatsheis and Hi I’m Back. Leading Toowoomba trainer Ben Currie also has multiple runners in the feature sprint with Ruettiger, What A Promise and Amanaat all guaranteed a start while Boomwaa and Publishing Power are first and third emergencies. The Bruce Hill trained Man Of His Word also comes into calculations and will be fitter for his first up fourth to Raido in the Goldmarket.

C,G & E BenchMark 75 Handicap (1300m)

The locals could go home winners with Bergerac a strong chance to win the last. The Steve Tregea trained four year old is a winner over the same course and distance as Saturday’s contest but he will have to bounce back from a last start eighth at Doomben. Apoloboom is chasing a hat trick after wins at Toowoomba and Doomben but has to contend with a big weight and a wide barrier. Johnny Be Quick has been racing well in weaker company and gets his chance to shine on his home track.
