Queensland To Win @ $3.25

Just how fit is Billy? That’s the question on every Queenslander’s mind right now. Slater himself declared he’s ready to roll, which is good news considering most of Queensland’s hopes depend on him. In Game 1, Queensland looked flat and rushed, choosing to take early kicks in the tackle count and struggling to contain the Blues’ speed. The good news for the Maroons is Latrell Mitchell is far from 100%, and if Queensland can control the ruck battle and limit the likes of Josh Addo-Carr, they’ll go a long way to evening up this series.

Under 33.5 Points @ $1.91

If Game 1 proved anything, it’s that each match of this series has the potential to be low-scoring. Rain hit Sydney during the week, and an overcast forecast is expected for Game 2. By halftime the scoreboard read 8-6 last time out, and if the Maroons can hold their own in the second half this time, we may not see quite as many tries cross the line.

First Try Scorer: Tom Trbojevic @ $9

Manly’s winger kicked off the second half of Game 1 with a try in the 50th minute. The high-flying mark came between two Maroons defenders, highlighting just how dangerous the Blues aerial attack is. Tom Trbojevic’s athleticism gave Queensland fits during the whole game, but it might get even worse tonight. Brad Fittler wants Trbojevic to help out James Tedesco in and around the ruck, basically trying to catch the Maroons out of position and run them ragged. It’s a different approach from the Blues, but one that makes sense on what should be a slippery ANZ Stadium surface.

Ben Hunt Man of the Match @ $17

If Queensland are to win, it will take a big effort from Ben Hunt this time around. The Dragons’ star has copped a whack following the Game 1 loss, but as we all know, there’s a reason St. George have won 11 games this year, and it’s thanks to the 28-year old halfback. The kicking game will be huge for Queensland in Game 2, and if Hunt and Valentine Holmes can hook up in the air, they’ll really make things challenging for the Blues. The Maroons really looked like they lacked a leader last time out, and although Slater is the man for the job, Hunt is the kind of play-maker this side needs. Expect much better from him tonight.
