New Zealand Warriors vs Newcastle Knights
The Warriors have been hard work for punters this season, particularly at home. New Zealand’s inconsistencies make them a tough back, but the kiwis should be safe tonight against the Knights. Issac Luke is again in the lineup, and in his 250th game, the Warriors should be up and about for the occasion. New Zealand also have a lot to play for with the chance to move further up the ladder, so expect the hosts to show up fighting.
Essendon vs St. Kilda
There’s nothing but bragging rights on the line now, but the Bombers will still be hoping to end their season with a bang. Essendon came so close last week against the Hawks, but their midfield pressure should see them over the line this time around. Essendon dominated St. Kilda when these two met last season, dominating just about every statistical category. If David Zaharakis can average close to 32 touches again, this should be an easy win.
South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Sydney Roosters
It’s billed as a potential Grand Final preview, but after last week’s manhandling of the Storm, the Bunnies go in as the slight favourite. South Sydney were nothing short of impressive against Melbourne, maintaining possession and also setting the tempo. The Roosters are a classy side themselves, but last weeks close call against the Cowboys highlighted some minor problems. Another sloppy second half will cost Sydney against this strong Bunnies side.
