Philadelphia Phillies vs New York Mets
Don’t let the Mets’ miserable record fool you, they’ve gone 31-26 since the All-Star break, and more importantly scored six earned runs off of today’s starter Zach Eflin. In case that doesn’t convince you, strikeout fast-baller Noah Syndergaard also takes the mound for the Mets, which should keep the Phillies swinging and missing.
Seattle Sounders vs Philadelphia Union
It’s no surprise to see the Sounders as the heavy favourites this afternoon. Seattle hasn’t lost a game since July 1, while the Union are fresh off a 4-1 defeat to Montreal earlier in the week. Philly are capable of scoring some goals, but this looks like it could be the Sounders’ 10th straight victory with Raul Ruidiaz in sparkling form.
South Australia vs New South Wales
The early stages of the JLT One-Day Cup continues this afternoon between South Australia and NSW. The Blues opened with a narrow two-run loss to Western Australia on Tuesday, and also open as the slight underdogs ahead of today’s match. Having taken 42 wickets in his ODI career, the Redbacks will be hoping Adam Zampa can continue his strong form and lead the way to a win.
