Daily Sports Tips – Thursday 25th October
Boston Red Sox vs Los Angeles Dodgers
Dodgers To Win @ $2.20
Don’t let the scoreboard fool you, Game 1 was actually pretty close. The Dodgers simply allowed too many runners on base in the seventh inning, but they have to be happy with the way guys like David Freese, Manny Machado and Justin Turner played. Today, they’ll face David Price, another left-handed hitter who often pitches extremely well or extremely poorly. The Dodgers were one of the top five run scoring teams against southpaws during the regular season, and if they can pounce on Price for a few cheap runs early – just like they did against Chris Sale yesterday – they’ll set themselves up with a chance.
Winnipeg Jets v Toronto Maple Leafs
Leafs To Win @ $2.00
The Jets have lost just two games to start the season, while the Leafs sit right behind them having lost three. Winnipeg hold home ice advantage today, however their defence is in for a tough time with the league’s second-best power play unit coming to town. Despite their winning ways, the Jets only rank 12th in the league in goals scored this year, which doesn’t bode well against a high-scoring team like Toronto.
Brisbane Bullets v Perth Wildcats
Perth at the Line (-4.5 Points) @ $1.85
The Bullets came up short against Perth last week, and even with homecourt advantage, they’re tough to trust in the early stages of the season. Brisbane are 4-4 as the home underdog, while Perth have won five of their last eight as the away favourite. Brisbane have every right to keep this close, but after an undefeated start to the season, take the Wildcats at the line.
