QTIS 2yo Handicap (1200m)

The two year olds are first out of the gates on Brisbane Handicap Day at Doomben on Saturday. Champagne Jet scored at big odds on debut and a repeat performance will see the filly make it two from two. Oh Five Glory will be all the better for her debut second at Doomben on November 17 and is certain to be amongst the prizemoney again. Cabochon Lil and Mishani Desire have also had the experience of recent racing.

Race 2 - 12:57pm

BenchMark 70 Handicap (1350m)

Sydney’s leading trainer Chris Waller and Brisbane’s top jock Jeff Lloyd team up with Auerbach who has to overcome a wide barrier but has the runs on the board with wins from his last two starts at the Gold Coast and Ipswich. Lulu Express has been placed at her last two starts and drops 5.5kg on her latest second at Ipswich. Smug Satisfaction is the winner of her last two starts at Murwillumbah and the Gold Coast and The Socialist also visited the winner’s stall at the Sunshine Coast.

Class 3 Plate (1600m)

Chris Waller has a strong hand again with Omineca with Jim Byrne in the saddle and the four year old is finding form with a last start second at Doomben over the mile and is one of the main chances again. Al’s Kingdom is working his way up through the grades with two wins from his last three starts and will be competitive again in this class. Polemic has plenty of weight and a wide barrier but is a last start Rosehill placegetter and Sofie’s Gold Class is racing consistently with two Doomben placings from her last two outings.

1MWLY Handicap (1350m)

Sharpamal has been very consistent of late with three placings from his last four starts on the out of town tracks and has a great each way chance again with Jeff Lloyd in the saddle. Chapter And Verse was a winner two runs back at the Sunshine Coast before finishing fifth at Doomben and will be thereabouts again. Cadogan steps up to Saturday class after a midweek Doomben win and drops a whopping 5kg while Apoloboom has been lumped with 58kg.

QTIS 3yo Handicap (2000m)

A Man To Match has been placed at his last four starts and gets his chance for an overdue win stepping up to the 2000m for the first time. Ceol Na Mara scored at double figure odds at Doomben last start and will be thereabouts again stepping up in distance. Coastal Prince and Lope For Joya clash again after running the quinella the Sunshine Coast.

Race 6 - 3:28pm

Class 6 Plate (2000m)

Ruby Guru was a winner at Doomben over a similar distance last start and will be hard to beat again. Galtero’s winning run came to an end last when fifth over 2020m at Doomben but gets his chance to make amends here. Most Exalted and Mishani Vaidra are worthy of a spot in the exotics.

Race 7 - 4:08pm

Brisbane Handicap (1600m)

Coldstone will be fitter with one run under his belt and ran a bottler of a race first up when second over 1350m at Doomben two weeks ago and gets his chance to go one better in the Brisbane Handicap. Cantbuybetter has drawn awkwardly but has the services of Jeff Lloyd and is a two times winner over this course and distance. Prioritise strung together four wins before his last start fourth at Doomben and is also a winner over Saturday’s course and distance. Ruling Dynasty can show some sharp improvement stepping up to the mile.

F&M Quality (1350m)

Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott have brought Our Crown Mistress to Brisbane and she will be hard to beat up against the fillies and mares after racing in better company over the Melbourne Spring Carnival. Robert Heathcote will saddle up Stella Victoria and Femme Fireball who have both had several wins each at their recent outings and will be in the mix again. Test The World is one for the exotics coming back to fillies and mares class.

Race 9 - 5:25pm

0MW Handicap (1200m)

A tough race to wrap up Brisbane Handicap Day with a multitude of chances. Ahwahneechee has good out of town form with three wins from his last four starts and has an each way chance again at double figure odds with Ladbrokes.com.au. Port Macquarie trained Awesome Pluck has also been racing consistently and has claims in this class. The Mechanic has drawn off the track but has Jeff Lloyd to help his chances, Ignite The Light is overdue for a win and the top weight Casino Thoughts comes to town with winning Rocky form.
