Daily Racing Tips – Australia Stakes Night Special

The Valley - Race 5 8.30pm AEDT

No. 5 Freeze Over

This looked like a two horse race between Miss Norway and Freeze Over and the scratching of Miss Norway means that Freeze Over is clearly the horse to beat. Freeze Over won an edition of the Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge at the end of last year and she has been freshened-up since a strong run behind Crack The Code at the same venue last start. She will need a touch of luck from the wide barrier draw, but she is definitely the class horse in this field.

The Valley - Race 6 9.00pm AEDT

No. 11 Semari

This is a very open betting race, but Semari is a horse that appeals at her current quote of $8. She was not beaten far in races like the Vinery Stud Stakes and Australasian Oaks as a three-year-old and she clearly has plenty of ability. She will take benefit from this run, but class might be enough to get her home.

The Valley - Race 7 9:30pm AEDT

No. 1 Brave Smash

Brave Smash was beaten as a short-priced favourite in the Australia Stakes 12 months ago, but he can atone for that defeat in the 2019 edition of the race. He won the Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes over this track and distance in the Spring and the field that he meets tonight is no tougher. It is rare that he produces a poor performance and his usual form is definitely good enough to win this race.

The Valley - Race 8 10:00pm AEDT

No. 9 Greyworm

Greyworm is a horse with a huge amount of upside and it is no surprise that he has opened as a clear favourite for this contest. He has recorded two wins from his three race starts and he is unlucky not to be unbeaten. He makes his own luck right on the speed and he is well-placed to make a winning return to the races.
