F&M Class 6 Handicap (1200m)

Of The Day is resuming and is a three times winner over this track and distance and looks suited against the fillies and mares. Femme Fireball will find this easier than her ninth in the Magic Millions F&M at the Gold Coast in January and is also a winner over this course and distance. Mishani Electra was placed at Doomben last start and Awake The Stars has won first up in the past.

Rough Habit Plate (2000m)

Dealmaker looks the class runner here and is the one to beat after being placed at his last two starts at Group 3 level during the 2019 Sydney Autumn Carnival, the latest a second at Randwick over 2000m in the Frank Packer Plate. Race 6 - 2:30pm AEST

Champagne Classic (1200m)

Dubious will make his belated Winter Carnival debut at Doomben in the Champagne Classic after being scratched from the Gold Coast last Saturday because of the heavy track conditions. The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace trained colt hasn’t raced since failing on a heavy track in the Golden Slipper and looks well placed here. The Odyssey has good gate speed to overcome a wide draw and is chasing a hat trick of wins. Strasbourg is coming off an eighth in the Group 1 Inglis Sires (1400m) at Randwick and has the blinkers back on and Jagged Edge is undefeated from two starts at the Sunshine Coast and Eagle Farm.

Doomben Cup favourite Gem Song will have his final hit out for the Group 1 feature next Saturday and is expected to be prominent at the finish. Plein Ciel has drawn awkwardly but is racing in fine form with a third and a win at Caulfield at his last two starts.

Doomben 10,000 (1200m)

The Doomben 10,000 looks a race in two between the speedster Nature Strip and the backmarker Osborne Bulls. It will be an exciting finish with Nature Strip striving to get the 1200m while Osborne Bulls will be gobbling him up with every stride over the final fifty metres. Easy Eddie has the blinkers back on and can run a good race and Champagne Cuddles will be running home.

Our Libretto is a two times winner over the 2000m and will get a nice run from a handy gate. Le Juge has worked his way up through the grades with six wins since December and has earned his chance to tackle Group 3 company. Stablemate Haripour was the winner of the Bendigo Golden Mile two starts back and third emergency The Candy Man is worth consideration if he gains a start.
