Daily Racing Tips – Doomben 10,000 Day Special
Doomben - Race 6 2.30pm AEDT
No. 1 Dubious
Dubious beat home the majority of this field when he finished second behind Exhilartes in the Magic Millions Classic at the Gold Coast and he went on to run well in the Todman Stakes. He failed to fire in the Golden Slipper, but that was on a heavy track and he did have genuine excuses. On exposed form he has an edge over the rest of this field and he is over the odds at his current price.
Doomben - Race 8 3:50pm AEDT
No. 1 Osborne Bulls
Osborne Bulls has been the bridesmaid throughout his Autumn Racing Carnival campaign and he gets the chance to claim a maiden Group 1 win in the Doomben 10,000. He maps to get a lovely run in transit with Kerrin McEvoy in the saddle and anything like his best form would make him very tough to beat. Nature Strip is a huge risk over 1200 meters and I am keen to take him on.
Doomben - Race 9 4:30pm AEDT
No. 9 Le Juge
Le Juge is outstanding value in what is an open edition of the Chairman’s Handicap. He has recorded four wins from his five race starts and he keeps improving everytime that he has been seen at the races. This is a tougher assignment again, but he still has upside and a number of other horses in this field look to have found their level.
Morphettville - Race 7 4:36pm AEDT
No. 2 Mr Quickie
Mr Quickie has recorded eight wins from his 11 race starts and the scary thing for his rivals is that he still has the scope to improve. He relished the step-up to 2000 metres to win at Caulfield last start and he gives the impression that the 2500 metres will not be an issue. The wide barrier draw shouldn’t be a problem as it should ensure that he will get clear running in the concluding stages.
