Angel Dane showed a lovely turn-of-foot to win at Eagle Farm a couple of starts ago and ran excellent closing sectionals when she finished third behind Cruze and Snitch last start. I don’t think that this race is any tougher and she is clearly racing in career best form. She can sit closer to the speed from barrier five and will be tough to hold out late.

Ready To Roam drops back in class after he finished a nice fourth behind Diamond Thunder in the Oxlade Stakes. He has generally raced in tougher company than this and I’m confident that he has more upside than the rest of this field. He will get a long way back, but he will be tough to hold out in the concluding stages.

High Opinion didn’t run out a strong 2400 metres in the WJ McKell Cup at Rosehill Gardens last start and the drop in trip should suit. His runs before that were excellent, especially his second behind Abdon in the Wagga Gold Cup, and if he can return to that sort of form he will prove very tough to beat.

Manaya recorded as visually impressive a win that you will ever see at the Gold Coast last start and that is the perfect lead-up for the Gai Waterhouse Classic. She is a mare that generally goes to another level second-up and last campaign she was not beaten far by Tyzone in the Goldmarket. This is her chance to claim another black-type win.
