Race 1 - 11:38am AEST

Class 6 Handicap (1600m)

Shogun Sun has only raced once over 1600m for a second at Eagle Farm and is stepping back up to the mile following his last start nose second over 1400m at Eagle Farm a fortnight ago. Trainer Kelly Schweida has opted for apprentice Corey Bayliss’ 2kg claim to help his chances. Gold Ambition is a winner over this course and distance and has had a freshen up since running second over 2100m at Lismore. Hectopascal was placed over the 1666m on Ipswich Cup Day while Boom Boom Epic has been out of form of late but has recorded a win over the Doomben mile.

Race 2 - 12:13pm AEST

QTIS 2yo Handicap (1350m)

Snazz ‘N’ Charm has been placed at his only two race starts and will find this a lot easier than his last start third at Listed level over 1400m at Eagle Farm. Gobsmacked was sent out as the favourite for her debut win at Rockhampton and has earned her chance in the city. Violet has been placed at all his four starts but is yet to break her Maiden status and Allo Allo gets her chance in town following her Gold Coast Maiden win.

BenchMark 75 Handicap (2000m)

Ilwendo is fitter for two runs from a spell and will find this slightly easier than his last start fifth over 2000m at Randwick two weeks ago and will be hard to beat. Our Mantra is stepping up to Saturday class chasing a hat trick after midweek wins at Doomben (2040m) and Eagle Farm (1800m) and has to be in the mix again. Mewstone Rock made up ground from the back when third over 1600m at the Sunshine Coast last Saturday and Constantine was also doing his best work at the end of 1500m at Eagle Farm.

Race 4 - 1:23pm AEST

Open Handicap (1200m)

Amanaat has a perfect two from two record over this course and distance and looks hard to beat again coming off a last start second in the Group 3 W J Healy Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm. Whypeeo ran his best race this campaign two starts back when second at Listed level at Eagle Farm over 1200m but then raced on the pace before fading into tenth place in the Healy Stakes but will find this a bit easier. Divine Dice has been kept up to the mark with a Deagon barrier trial win and Of The Day has been well beaten at her recent outings but is a three times winner over the Doomben 1200m course.

Race 5 - 2:02pm AEST

F&M Class 3 Plate (1200m)

Jami Lady will appreciate a huge drop in grade following her fourth in the Listed Daybreak Lover (1200m) at Eagle Farm on Stradbroke Handicap Day and gets her chance to find the winner’s stall. Bubbles’N’Troubles was well out of her depth when unplaced at Group 3 level and has won a 1000m Doomben barrier trial since. Dream Kisses has been placed at her last two starts and is a winner over this course and distance and Dixie is coming off a last start win at Coffs Harbour.

Race 6 - 2:42pm AEST

C,G & E Class 3 Plate (1200m)

Cordoned has been placed at his last two starts at the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast and looks well placed here. New Horizons also looks suited here and will get a nice run from the inside gate. Supersonic Boom heads back to the city following a second at the Sunshine Coast and Sparky Lad has the Chris Waller touch.

Race 7 - 3:22pm AEST

1MW Handicap (1350m)

Tokoriki Lad ran his best race this campaign with a last start fifth over 1400m at Eagle Farm and further improvement puts him right in this. Marksfield (third) and Fab’s Cowboy (fourteenth) are coming out of the Battle Of The Bush Final and can figure in the mix here. Apoloboom’s country form has been sound with recent wins at Dalby and Beaudesert and is a winner over this course and distance.

Race 8 - 4:02pm AEST

Class 6 Handicap (1110m)

Ef Troop set the pace before getting run down over the concluding stages when second in similar class on Ipswich Cup Day. The Tony Gollan trained three year old has drawn awkwardly again but has the early gate speed to overcome the wide barrier. Hirtshals is coming off a last start Eagle Farm win over 1000m ahead of Ditmas in third place and Crafty Cop will get a nice run from the rails draw.

Race 9 - 4:37pm AEST

QTIS 3yo Handicap (1350m)

Enterprise Louise and Churning finished second and third behind the smart Vega One over 1400m at Eagle Farm two weeks ago and they look set for another close battle. Yamazaki has solid recent midweek form with a win and a second at Doomben and is a winner over this course and distance. Red Chase is also stepping up to Saturday grade following a midweek Eagle Farm win over 1200,.
