Flemington - Race 1 11:40pm AEST

No. 1 Hush Writer

Hush Writer has been freshened-up since he finished a gallant sixth in the Winter Cup and he is well-placed to make a winning return to the races. He showed plenty of toughness to win the W J McKell Cup first-up in June and this race is no tougher. Stephen Baster will take him straight to the front and he will prove tough to catch.

Flemington - Race 3 12:45pm AEST

No. 12 Jumbo Ozaki

Jumbo Ozaki has recorded two wins from her three race starts and she has an enormous amount of upside. She was far from disgraced when she finished third in the Autumn Trophy and this is a genuine drop in quality. It will be interesting to see how far she can progress during her Spring campaign.

Rosehill Gardens - Race 2 12:30pm AEST

No. 2 Taniko

Taniko ran the fastest closing sectionals of the entire meeting when she finished third at Rosehill Gardens last start and the step-up to 1200 metres looks ideal for her at this stage of her preparation. Tommy Berry can settle her closer to the speed and she should be in the finish. The $6.50 available with Fixed Odds +30% is outstanding value.

Rosehill Gardens - Race 5 2:15pm AEST

No. 3 Athiri

Athiri only recorded the one race win during her two-year-old season, but she was not beaten far in a number of classy races like the Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes and the Magic Night Stakes. She always gave the impression that she would be even better as a three-year-old and she is well-placed to make a winning return to the races in The Rosebud.
