Gosford - Race 5 3:05pm AEST

No. 8 Brunetta

Brunetta showed good ability during her maiden racing campaign and generally competed in tougher races than this one. Her barrier trial ahead of her return to the races was excellent and she is clearly fairly forward for her return. Appian Way is well and truly under the odds and Brunetta appeals at the $7.50.

Gosford - Race 8 4:55pm AEST

No. 2 Maroch

Maroch has recorded two wins from four race starts in Hobart and clearly has plenty of ability. He has been transferred to the care of Mark Newnham and his two barrier trials at Warwick Farm have been good. He will need some luck in running, but he does have the benefit of Nash Rawiller in the saddle.

Ballarat - Race 3 2:30pm AEST

No. 5 Inverary Castle

Inverary Castle was only narrowly denied on debut at Ballarat and should take good improvement from that effort. He showed good early speed in that contest and John Allen should be able to take him straight to the front in this contest. There is no doubt that he will give his rivals something to catch.

Ballarat - Race 7 4:30pm AEST

No. 6 Design Rouge

Design Rouge produced a career best performance to win at Ballarat last start and a repeat of that performance would make him very tough to beat. He is another horse that has excellent early speed and he will have no issues taking up the running from barrier four. He is deserving of his status as a short-priced favourite.
