PUNTER’S PAL

After taking a hit in round 23, punters bounced back with vengeance in the penultimate round of the regular season.

All eight favourites saluted and six of those covered the line resulting in some dark days for bookmakers.

Manly might have been the form team of the competition but punters correctly predicted the Storm wasn’t about to lose to the Sea Eagles twice in five weeks.

Of the eight teams to provide punters with some good collects, Melbourne was the best of them, followed closely by the Rabbitohs who look to be returning to form just in time for finals.

BOOKIE’S BEST

None. Every single game was a loser for bookmakers.

FIRST TRY FILL UP

Kyle Feldt provided punters with the perfect start to round 24.

Not only was he the best backed in the first try market in the Cowboys Thursday night clash with the Bulldogs, he was also part of Ladbrokes Player Pick market which was offering $5 for he or Nick Meaney to score the first or second try of the match.

Four of the eight first try scorers went the way of the punters with Josh Addo-Carr proving a massive fill up for one punter, who had $1000 on the Storm winger at the odds-boosted price of $10 (boosted from $8.50).

LEGENDARY LAND

Our legendary land for round 24 goes to the punter who saw a couple of big wins coming.

Said punter outlaid $1000 at 23-1 on Bradman Best anytime try scorer and his Knights winning 13+ against the Titans into Josh Addo-Carr anytime try scorer and Storm by 13+ against the Sea Eagles.

A $23,000 return, a $22,000 profit and a solid Saturday afternoon.

BACKING THE FUTURE

Manly took a turbo charged drift in the premiership market after losing Tom Trbojevic to a season ending pectoral injury.

The Sea Eagles went from $9 out to $26 after also seemingly blowing the final’s double chance in losing to the Storm.

The Rooster were trimmed up yet again by the bookies and are now into $2.25, whilst the Storm and Raiders remained relatively steady as the Bunnies returned to single figure odds.
