Balaklava - Race 3 12:45pm AEST

No. 9 Star Parfait

It has been a long time between race starts for Star Parfait, but her barrier trial performance at Murray Bridge suggests that she is fairly forward for her return to the races. She hasn’t recorded a race win, but she has generally raced in stronger company than this and she has more upside than her rivals.

Balaklava - Race 5 2:25pm AEST

No. 2 Chilean Wonder

Chilean Wonder beat a good field to win over this track and distance earlier this campaign and he has been racing well without winning since. The inside barrier draw is ideal as he should be able to hold the rail in the early stages of this contest. He is a tough gelding that will give his rivals something to catch.

Balaklava Cup - Race 8 3:40pm AEST

No. 1 Waging War

This is an interesting edition of the Balaklava Cup. Waging War was a good thing beaten behind Behemoth in the Penny Edition Stakes at Morphettville last start and this race is no tougher. He will need a touch of luck in running from the wide barrier draw, but I am confident that he is the best horse in this field.

Balaklava - Race 9 4:45pm AEST

No. 2 Zounami

Zounami made his South Australian racing debut with a classy victory at Murray Bridge last start and he should take good improvement from that performance. He is drawn perfectly in barrier four and he will be able to make his own luck right on the speed with Barend Vorster in the saddle.
