Mocambo is the winner of two of his four race starts and will find this
easier than his last start seventh in a 3yo BenchMark 72 Handicap at Randwick
two weeks ago. Colada is stepping up in class after breaking through for an
easy Maiden win at Canterbury and has the chance to figure amongst the
prizemoney again. Sirmaze is a last start Hawkesbury Maiden winner and Bullet
Storm is coming off a second in a Scone Class 1 over 1600m.

C,G & E Maiden Plate (1200m)
The Kris Lees trained Elgin has barrier trialled twice in preparation for
his assignment on Friday and looks to be one of the main chances. Amiens has
raced once for a second and has since won a Canterbury trial and looks suited
here. Expect Elvezio to take improvement from his debut second in a Hawkesbury
Maiden and Canyonero has had plenty of experience and just missed a place last
start when fourth in a Gosford Maiden.

F&M Maiden Plate (1200m)
Bright Rubick is facing a huge class drop after finishing seventh in the
Group 2 Furious Stakes (1200m) at Randwick two weeks ago and gets her chance to
break her Maiden status. First starter Mirra Vision has been primed for her
debut with two Randwick barrier trial wins and has the luxury of the inside
gate. Rockarosa was second in a recent Warwick Farm trial and expect
improvement from Torrid.

BenchMark 64 Handicap (2300m)
Toulouse put in a solid effort last start when third in a 2400m BenchMark 70 Handicap on the Kensington track at Randwick and looks well placed here. Plucky George and Urbino ran the quinella last start over this course and distance and both are strong chances to figure in the prizemoney again and Dambulla is a last start Canterbury 2200m Class 1 winner.

Cameron Handicap (1500m)
Kolding worked his way up through the grades last campaign to make it four
wins on the trot with his win in the Group 2 Queensland Guineas (1600m) at
Eagle Farm. Kolding will be fitter for one run back from a spell for a fifth in
the Group 2 Tramway Stakes (1400m) at Randwick a fortnight ago and looks well
placed here. Con Te Partiro is also fitter for one run back for a third in the
Group 3 Show County Quality (1200m) at Randwick on August 14 and look for
improvement. Wren’s Day has the blinkers on for the first time and Nettoyer
will be given every chance with Glen Boss in the saddle.

BenchMark 64 Handicap (1200m)
Hit The Target failed to hit the target when fourth as favourite in a 1200m Highway
at Randwick two weeks ago and gets his chance to make amends and will appreciate
apprentice Chris Williams 2kg claim. Pandano showed improvement at his second
run this campaign and looks suited here. Texas Storm has been around the minor
prizemoney of late and All Sassitude has been placed twice over this course and
distance.

Newcastle Gold Cup (2300m)
Hush Writer battled on bravely for second in the 2100m Wyong Cup a fortnight
ago and he will get his chance to go one better in the Newcastle Gold Cup. Our
Candidate is the winner of three of his last four starts in restricted class
and gets in on the minimum with winning form. Vaucluse Bay finished on the
heels of Hush Writer when third in the Wyong Cup and Saunter Boy can give the locals a sight.

Tibbie Stakes (1400m)
Pohutukawa was Group 1 placed at the end of her three year old season when runner
up in the Tattersall’s Tiara (1400m) at Eagle Farm at the end of the 2019
Brisbane Winter Carnival. The James Cummings trained mare is resuming and has
won first up in the past. Foxy Housewife was a last start winner at double
figures odds in the Listed Mona Lisa Stakes (1350m) at Wyong and gets her
chance to prove that wasn’t a fluke. Sweet Deal is the winner of two of her
last three starts and look for improvement from Organza.
