Flemington - Race 2 1:35pm AEST

No. 1 Soul Patch

Soul Patch showed a nice turn-of-foot on debut at Ballarat on debut and he ran all the fastest closing sectionals in the race when he finished second behind The Lifeline at Ladbrokes Park last start. The Lifeline ran well at Caulfield on the weekend and the form coming out of that race has been strong. The step-up to 1420 metres is ideal and the Shamus Award colt will be flying home late.

Flemington - Race 6 3:55pm AEST

No. 1 Celestial Falls

Mark Newnham won the Kennedy Oaks Trial with Greysful Glamour 12 months ago and he has an excellent chance to win again in 2019 with Celestial Falls. She returned to the races with a fast-finishing second place finish at Randwick and she should take good improvement from that run. The step-up to 1800 metres suits and she maps to get a lovely run in transit with the in-form Tim Clark in the saddle.

Flemington - Race 7 4:30pm AEST

No. 3 Treaty Of Seville

Treaty Of Seville is well and truly over the odds at his current price of $9.50 in the Victoria Derby Trial. He finished fifth in the McKenzie Stakes at The Valley, which has proven to be a very strong form race, and he ran well without a great deal of luck at Sale last start. The step-up in trip is ideal and he will get a nice trail into this contest with Luke Currie in the saddle.

Flemington - Race 8 5:05pm AEST

No. 3 Wetakemanhattan

Wetakemanhattan will be better over further and he should take good improvement from this run, but his class will take him a long way. He has won first-up in the past, his record at Flemington is good and on his best form he does have a genuine class edge on the rest of this field. Matt Cumani should have him fairly forward and I am happy to gamble at the current price.
