Sir Barnabus made up good ground from the back first up when third over 1615m at Doomben and the step up to the 1800m on Saturday will be right up his alley. Oink is chasing a hat trick after wins at Eagle Farm (1400m) and Doomben (1615m) but is slowly climbing up in the weights which may go against his chances. Tatcee gets another chance at the distance coming off a win over 1600m at Eagle Farm and Follow Suit has handy North Queensland form.

QTIS 2yo Handicap (1000m)
There is a host of first starters among the two year olds but we will stick with the Peter and Paul Snowden trained Strike who is a Randwick trial winner and will wear the blinkers on debut. Dark Son has race experience with a win in Toowoomba but has drawn an awkward barrier. First starter Palate is a Gold Coast trial winner and Pounce scooted away for an easy Rosehill trial win.

QTIS 3yo Handicap (1000m)
Magic Trick has two wins and two placings from his last four starts and gets
his chance to find the winner’s stall again. The Tony Gollan trained
Howwonderfullifeis comes to town after breaking through for her maiden win at
the Sunshine Coast and her stablemate Ready To Roam resumes with a Doomben
barrier trial win under his belt. Courseshewill is fitter for a first up third
at the Sunshine Coast.

C,G & E BenchMark 70 Handicap (1400m)
Elixir is well overdue for another win with only one win plus five placings
from his last seven starts. Le Mattan was a winner at the Gold Coast two starts
back before finishing third over the Eagle Farm 1400m. Umbreto is stepping up
to Saturday class after a win at the Doomben mid-weeks and the Chris Waller
trained Obelos is not the worst.

QTIS 3yo Handicap (1400m)
Ballistic Boy gets his chance to turn the tables on Xanthus when he meets
him slightly better at the weights after going down narrowly to him last start
over 1200m at Doomben. Gem Of Scotland rarely puts in a bad run and has a win
and a second at Doomben at her last two starts and The Sinner is taking the
step up to Saturday class following a second at the Doomben mid-weeks.

BenchMark 75 Handicap (2200m)
Pleased and Holbrook finished first and second over 2020m at Doomben last
start and are set to do battle again. Holbrook is a two times winner over the
2200m. Advance Warning gets his chance on the Saturday circuit following his
win over 2050m at the Doomben mid-weeks and can improve on recent form.

F&M BenchMark 70 Handicap (1400m)
Smug Satisfaction gets her chance to return to the winner’s stall after having to settle for the runner’s up cheque at Eagle Farm last start. She has a 1.5kg claim and the inside gate to help her chances. Stablemate Nothing Needed has shown plenty of ability at the out of town tracks with two wins at the Gold Coast from her last four starts but has to overcome the outside barrier. Tycoon Street has been around the minor placings of late and Clairvue Missy in on the improve.

Chris Waller holds the key to this race with The Avenger, Fortensky and
Cellarman all in with a chance. Fortensky and The Avenger finished first and
second over 1350m at Doomben last start and are set to fight out the finish
again while Cellarman has finished second in a recent Gold Coast barrier trial
in preparation for his return to the racetrack. Scallopini is backing up week
to week after finishing a close up third over 1200m at Eagle Farm last

Tambo’s Mate was a handy first up second over 1110m at Doomben and gets his chance to go one better here. Snitz is getting closer with each run this campaign and might pay to follow. The Tenor and I Dream Of Green were both placed at Doomben last start.
