Caulfield - Race 3 1:25pm AEDT

No. 3 Hilo

The early support for Hilo in Gothic Stakes betting has come as no surprise. Hilo started his Spring campaign with two classy wins, including a victory over Thousand Guineas placegetter Southbank, before he finished a credible sixth behind Alligator Blood in the Caulfield Guineas Prelude. This is a genuine drop in class and he maps to get a lovely run in transit with Damian Lane in the saddle.

Caulfield - Race 5 2:35pm AEDT

No. 3 Soothing

Soothing chased home the in-form Mizzy when she returned to the races in the Toy Show Quality and she returned to winning form with a simply outstanding victory in the Wylie Handicap in Adelaide. She ran all the quickest closing sectionals of the day and the Alinghi Stakes really isn’t that much tougher.

Royal Randwick - Race 2 1:05pm AEDT

No. 8 Miss Moana

Miss Moana is a mare with plenty of upside and she is outstanding value at her current odds. She finished a close second in the SA Fillies Classic in Adelaide during the Autumn and she returned to the races with a fast-finishing win at Wyong. This is tougher, but the step-up in trip suits and she will be flying home late.

Royal Randwick - Race 7 4:15pm AEDT

No. 1 Santa Ana Lane

Santa Ana Lane stamped himself as the best sprinter in Australia when he won the TJ Smith Stakes during the Autumn and a repeat of that effort would make him very tough to beat in The Everest. He ran the best closing sectionals when he returned to the races in the Gilgai Stakes and he always improves second-up.
