Mornington - Race 2 1:10pm AEDT

No. 7 Almadrava

Almadrava made her racing debut with a credible second place finish behind the promising Beauty Supreme at Pakenham and I don’t think that there is a horse with the same level of upside. I like the fact that Michael Kent has kept her at 1000 metres and she has the turn-of-foot to finish over the top of her rivals late.

Mornington - Race 3 1:45pm AEDT

No. 3 Brazen Song

Brazen Song is well and truly over the odds at his current quote of $6.50. She has shown some ability in her two race starts to date and she found the line strongly when she finished third behind Countess Queen at Bendigo last start. Barrier two is ideal for her and she will have every possible chance to claim a maiden race win.

Mornington - Race 7 4:00pm AEDT

No. 1 Heptagon

This isn’t the strongest edition of the Ladbrokes Peninsula Cup and Heptagon is clearly the class horse in this field. He doesn’t win out of turn, but he does have form around the likes of Admiral’s Joker this campaign and that is good enough to win this contest. Jamie Mott in the saddle is a positive jockey change.

Mornington - Race 8 4:35pm AEDT

No. 1 Silent Command

Silent Command doesn’t win out of turn, but he does find himself in a very winnable contest at Mornington this afternoon. He wasn’t beaten far in the Gawler Cup and this is a genuine drop in class. He maps to get a lovely run in transit from barrier five and he may never have a better chance to return to winning form.
