2019 Keith Noud Quality Day Preview

Race 1 - 11:05am

QTIS 2yo Handicap (1110m)

A tricky race to kick off the huge ten race program at Doomben with all but three of the two year olds facing the starter for the first time. The Tony Gollan trained Rising Tycoon is one of those first starters and goes to the races for the first time well prepared following a Doomben barrier trial win. Battle Through has the experience of one race start for a win at the Gold Coast and gets his chance in town. Lady Banff is a Gold Coast barrier trial winner and Starfilly will be better for a debut third in a Sunshine Coast Maiden.

Race 2 - 11:43am

0 – 68 Handicap (1110m)

Mick The Hat scored a first up win for Toowoomba trainers Tony and Maddysen Sears and comes straight to the city with the blinkers going back on and will be hard to beat again. Cailini has been placed at her last two starts and can figure in the mix again. Love You Lucky is chasing a hat trick after wins at the Gold Coast and Ipswich and The Wild One is also on target for three in a row following wins at Grafton and Ipswich.

Soxagon is chasing a hat trick after comfortable wins at the Sunshine Coast and at Eagle Farm and is the one to beat again. Dixie Preacher has been racing consistently with placings from his last three starts and can figure amongst the minor prizemoney again. Lady Ringo is a last start Doomben winner and Obelos just missed the placings last start when fourth in a similar race Eagle Farm.

Race 4 - 1:03pm

Class 6 Handicap (1350m)

Macewen is another short priced favourite with Ladbrokes.com.au and will be hard to beat after wins at his last two starts at Eagle Farm. Shogun Sun is fitter for one run back from a spell, is a winner over this course and distance and has won second up in the past. Sparky Lad has a good chance to collect some of the prizemoney in the small field and Lucky Propspector has been placed twice over the Doomben 1350m course.

Race 5 - 1:43pm

QTIS 3yo Handicap (1350m)

Guntantes was a narrow winner at Eagle Farm two starts back and if you forget his last run when unplaced has to be considered again. Scathing is overdue for another win with placings at his last three starts and looks suited here. Shooting Love is chasing a hat trick after wins at Toowoomba and the Gold Coast and Purroni has done everything right of late with wins at his last two starts at Ipswich and Doomben.

Race 6 - 2:23pm

0MW Handicap (1050m)

Truculent was runner up last start at big odds and has a good each way chance again from an inside gate. Inquiry is solid in early betting at Ladbrokes.com.au and is coming off a last start win at Tamworth. Limerick Moon ran his best recent race last start for a third at Eagle Farm and Rabbit Hunter has handy Sunshine Coast form with a win and two placings from his last three starts there.

Race 7 - 3:03pm

Open Handicap (2000m)

Alward hasn’t been far off the pace at his last two outings and is a five times winner over the 2000m journey. High Opinion is a last start second at Randwick and will appreciate the nice drop in weight. Fighting Teo and Kubis finished first and second last start at Eagle Farm and are set to clash again.

Race 8 - 3:48pm

BenchMark 90 Handicap (1600m)

Trevelyan is well overdue for a win after finding the runner’s up stall at his last three starts and has drawn well to get a nice run. Hanover Square is a last start Eagle Farm winner and will get the benefit of apprentice Baylee Nothdurft’s claim again. The Robert Heathcote trained pair of Trommelschlagen and Alpine Dancer aren’t the worst.

Race 9 - 4:35pm

0 – 70 Handicap (1350m)

Dreamtimer hasn’t been that far off the pace of late and will strip as one of the main chances here. Golden Mean has handy form with a win at Doomben and a second at Eagle Farm and is well in demand in the betting at Ladbrokes.com.au. Maslow was a winner at Ipswich and the Sunshine Coast before his last start fourth at Eagle Farm and looks suited here and Whodunit has had some early support at double figure odds.

Keith Noud Quality (1200m)

Outback Barbie is resuming and with two impressive barrier trials under her belt will be hard to beat first up. Outback Barbie’s Tony Gollan trained stablemate I’m A Rippa is also resuming, is handy on his day and has a good fresh record. Chapter And Verse also has plenty of ability and has won first up in the past and Vega One is another from the Tony Gollan stable that has claims.
