2020 Australia Stakes Night Preview
Racing returns to The Valley for Australia Stakes Night this Friday and the Group 2 feature is absolutely packed full of quality.
The other highlight of the card is the Ladbrokes Summer Sizzle Final, where one Ladbrokes punter will win $10,000!
We have analysed every single race on the card and our complete Australia Stakes Night tips can be found below.
Race 1 - 6:30pm
Thank You Emergency Services Summer Stayers Series Heat 1 (2500m)
This looks like an ideal race for Quality Seeker. Quality Seeker outstayed his rivals to win over 2400 metres at Randwick two starts ago and he had a tough run in transit when he finished a close second behind Dark Pearl last start. The step back-up to 2400 metres is ideal and he maps to get a lovely run in transit with Jye McNeil in the saddle.

Race 2 - 7:00pm
Quest Moonee Valley Plate (1000m)
This is a tricky race to analyse from a betting perspective as the majority of this field will be making their racing debuts. On exposed form, Baaqyah does look to have an edge over the rest of this field. The I Am Invincible filly made her debut with a narrow defeat in the Maribyrnong Plate at Flemington and she was not disgraced in the Preston Plate at The Valley last start after having no luck in running.

Race 3 - 7:30pm
Simpson Construction Summer Sprint Series Heat 1 (1000m)
I am willing to forgive Written Choice for his flat effort at The Valley last start. He was caught wide in the early stages and was found to be lame after the race. His form before that had been strong and his narrow second place finish behind Bold Star in the Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge first-up was excellent. A repeat of that effort would make him tough to beat.

Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge Heat 10 (955m)
It has been a while between race starts for Sei Stella, but if she brings her best form to the races she will prove very tough to beat. The Not A Single Doubt mare has recorded three wins from her four first-up starts and her record at The Valley is nothing short of outstanding. Damian Lane will be able to settle her right on the speed and she will have every possible chance in the run.

VOBIS Gold Carat (1200m)
How Womantic is a lightly-raced filly with a huge amount of upside. She showed a nice turn-of-foot to win on debut at Geelong and she could hardly have been more impressive at Caulfield last start. The scary thing for her rivals is that she still has plenty of improvement left in her and she maps to get a lovely run in transit with Jye McNeil in the saddle. The Wow Signal filly looks like the good thing of the night.

Ladbrokes Summer Sizzle Final (1200m)
One lucky Ladbrokes punter will win $10,000 in the Ladbrokes Summer Sizzle Final! I am willing to forgive Beauty for her last start flop at Flemington and this does look like the right race for her. Her first-up effort at Caulfield was excellent and on her best form she does have a genuine class edge over the rest of this field. Barrier four is ideal and she should have every possible chance in the run.

Group 2 Australia Stakes (1200m)
This is an outstanding edition of the Australia Stakes and it is packed full of Group 1 winners. Hey Doc is deserving of his status as a clear favourite. The Duporth gelding won the 2017 edition of the Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes over this same track and distance, so The Valley is clearly not an issue for him. His last-start victory in the Winterbottom Stakes could hardly have been more impressive and a repeat of that effort would give him a genuine edge over the rest of this field.
The x-factor in the Australia Stakes field is Microphone. Microphone was outstanding as a two-year-old, highlighted by his second place finish in the Golden Slipper and victory in the Inglis Sires’, but was beaten as favourite in his only Spring start in the Roman Consul Stakes. James Cummings is adamant that Microphone is back to his best and the Exceed And Excel colt has the upside to upstage Hey Doc.

Classic Weiwei returned to the races with a close third behind Heavenly Emperor at Flemington on New Year’s Day and he ran all the fastest closing sectionals in the race. He should take plenty of improvement from what was a first-up run over 1600 metres and, if he does that, he will go to a level that can’t be matched by any other horse in this field.
