Statesville showed plenty of improvement at his second race start for a comfortable win in a 1200m Beaudesert Maiden and gets his chance to step up to city class. Expect improvement from Boom Spender who scored on debut in a Doomben mid-week 2yo Maiden and also deserves his chance in Saturday class. Mishani Machine also heads to town following a first up win in a Gold Coast 2yo Handicap and One More Pinot looked good in winning a recent 840m Doomben barrier trail.

Art Attack has been placed at his last two starts at Eagle Farm over a similar distance and gets his chance to break through for an overdue win. In Your Element showed her liking for the Eagle Farm 2200m with a last start third and if apprentice Madeleine Wishart can claim her full 3kg, the mare will only have to carry 51kg. Corsini has been rewarded with a trip to the city following a win over 2200m at the Gold Coast and Swing Shift is chasing his fourth win on the trot after two wins at Toowoomba and a win at Dalby sandwiched in between.

Class 3 (1840m)
Guru is fitter for two runs back from a spell and is ready to step up to the 1840m
after finishing third over 1600m at the Sunshine Coast last start and apprentice
Adin Thompson’s 3kg claim will come in very handy. Ultimate Ring has been
placed at his last three starts at Doomben and gets his chance to chase some
Saturday prizemoney. Twilighter will appreciate the step up in distance and
Mill City looks suited here.

QTIS 3yo Handicap
Girl is the winner of two of her last three starts and got the job down at
double figure odds in a 1600m Metro class 3yo Handicap at the Sunshine Coast
last start and gets the chance for back to back wins. Badoosh and Stuttering
finished second and third behind Vanna Girl and Violet also has handy Sunshine
Coast form and can figure in the mix again.

Boom Boy hasn’t been far away from the money at his recent outings and he has a great each way chance this week against this opposition. Katy’s Daughter found the winner’s stall at her fourth run in this campaign and gets her chance against better company. Moscini had good provincial form before his last start third in a Doomben mid-week Class 4 and Jinx ‘N’ Drinx comes to town on the back of a win in a Class 4 at the Sunshine Coast.

Race 6 - 3:42pm
New Universe gets his chance to turn the tables on Cool Chap when he meets him 3kg better than when he finished second to the Robert Heathcote trained gelding over this course and distance on January 18. Cool Chap has won an 1840m Handicap at Eagle Farm since and is chasing a hat trick but has the impost of 60.5kg on his back. Silvera is a winner over this course and distance and Spectroscope has wet track form and is one for the exotics.

Smart As Attack was back amongst the minor money last start with a second in a Gold Coast Class 4 Handicap and will get a nice run from the inside gate with only 51kg on his back after apprentice Adin Thompson takes his 3kg claim. Bold Warrior was rewarded with a win at the Gold Coast following some consistent form and can figure in the mix again. Plitvice steps up to Saturday class after a mid-week Doomben win and has wet track form and second emergency Mountbatten should be considered if he gains a start.

Roasted is the winner of two of her last three starts, her latest over this course and distance and is one of the main chances. Snowzone is ready to be tested in Saturday class after scoring a runaway win in a Doomben mid-week Class 2 and should be in the mix again. Master Jamie is climbing up in the weights after wins at his last three starts, two at Rockhampton and a last start win over this course and distance, and has to carry 61kg this week and Baby Boomer is fitter for one run back from a spell when a narrow second over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast.

Class 6 Handicap
Phobetor will find this a lot easier assignment than his last start thirteenth in the Magic Millions Cup (1400m) at the Gold Coast and he will get his chance to find the winner’s stall again. No Annamossity has had mixed form over his last couple of campaigns but did win a 1000m Doomben barrier trial in preparation for his return to the track. Auerbach is also resuming and was never far off the mark in this class last preparation and Winter Passage is going for four straight after two wins at the Sunshine Coast and a win at Doomben in between.
