Launceston - Race 5 5:10pm AEDT

No. 1 Still A Star

Still A Star and Mystical Pursuit fought out the finish in the Strutt Stakes on Hobart Cup Day and we look set for a repeat in the Tasmanian Oaks. Still A Star was able to hold-on late in the Strutt Stakes and I still believe that she is the superior stayer over 2100 metres. She will settle closer to the speed than Mystical Pursuit and that could prove to be the difference.

Launceston - Race 6 5:50pm AEDT

No. 3 Gamble In Paris

I generally don’t tip horses that are making their racing debuts, but Gamble In Paris is a good bet in an open edition of the Tasmanian Magic Millions Classic. His barrier trial victory at Hobart ahead of his debut was excellent and there is no doubt that he is a gelding that does possess some serious ability.

Launceston - Race 7 6:30pm AEDT

No. 11 Deroche

Deroche was a good thing beaten in the Bow Mistress on Ladbrokes Hobart Cup Day and she is clearly the horse to beat in the Magic Millions 3YO Classic. She recorded three wins on the trot in impressive fashion before that and the Needs Further filly still has the upside to win. The filly is deserving of her status as a short-priced favourite.

Launceston - Race 8 7:00pm AEDT

No. 8 Uninterrupted

Uninterrupted did plenty wrong when he made his Tasmanian racing debut at Launceston a fortnight ago, but there is no doubt that he does have some ability. He should take good improvement from that performance and, if he does that, he will prove tough to beat in this contest.
