Race 1 - 12:38pm

Class 3 Plate (1600m)

Westham has been racing consistently with two seconds and a win from his last three starts at the Doomben mid-weeks and has been given his chance on the Saturday circuit coming off a last start second in a 1650m Class 3. The Tony Gollan trained five year old has led at his last three starts and has enough early pace to go forward and overcome a wide gate. Sawtell has been racing in the Highways in Sydney with a third two starts back at Rosehill followed by a seventh at Randwick on February 1 and will find this a lot easier. Ultimate Ring was placed on four occasions before a last start fourth in Doomben mid-week Class 3 and has drawn nicely and Eric The Eel will be wearing the blinkers for the first time.

Race 2 - 1:13pm

Benchmark 90 Handicap (2000m)

The Chris Waller trained Raqeeq is chasing a hat trick after wins at Canterbury and Eagle Farm and will be hard to beat again. Ruby Guru has finished second at his last two starts, his latest behind Raqeeq over 2200m at Eagle Farm and meets him 1kg better at the weights. Mongolian Wolf is always a chance in this class and distance and Master Zephyr can do better than his last start sixth at Eagle Farm.

Race 3 - 1:48pm

2yo C&G Plate (1110m)

The Robert Heathcote trained Rothfire looks like one right out of the box with three wins from three race starts. He is the one to beat again coming off a four and a half lengths win over 1000m at Eagle Farm but isn’t a real betting proposition after opening up as the $1.20 favourite at Ladbrokes.com.au. Circularity will wear the blinkers for the first time, Mass Destruction has been placed at his three race starts and first starter Igor will be one to keep an eye on for the future.

2yo F Plate (1110m)

Jellishot ran her best race from three starts with a last start second over 1200m at Eagle Farm on February 8, is on the improve and will wear the blinkers for the first time. Spirit One saluted as favourite over 1000 at Eagle Farm back in October before a spell and has claims first up from the inside gate. Kisukano chased home Rothfire last start at Eagle Farm to finish second with Redoute’s Image back in fourth place.

Open Handicap (1200m)

I’m A Rippa is smart on his day and has had a freshen up since finishing out of the place over 1400m at Eagle Farm at the end of December. The six year old will get some weight relief, courtesy of apprentice Stephanie Thornton’s 1.5kg claim, and will be hard to beat. Manaya is fitter for one run back from a spell and can find her way back amongst the prizemoney again. Invincible Al is a last start winner over 1200m at Eagle Farm and Freddie Fox Trot heads back to the city after finding the winner’s stall at the Gold Coast a fortnight ago.

Race 6 - 3:42pm

3yo Plate (1200m)

The Odyssey will find this a lot easier than his latest eighth in the Magic Millions QTIS Open (1300m) at the Gold Coast and expect a bold showing. The Kelly Schweida trained The Odyssey is a winner over the same course and distance as Saturday’s contest. Stampe found his way back to the winner’s stall in a 1200m Eagle Farm Class 3 and looks suited back against his own age. Exondabeach and Jagged Edge finished first and second over 1000m at Eagle Farm a fortnight ago and get another chance to figure in the prizemoney.

Race 7 - 4:22pm

BenchMark 75 Handicap (1110m)

Solar Star was well out of his depth last start in Listed company and is better suited in this class. The Tony Gollan trained Solar Star has won first up in the past and apprentice Justin Huxtable 2kg claim will come in very handy first up. Adoradancer will be fitter with one run under her belt and has won second up on two occasions. Jardin Rouge found the runner’s up stall first up and expect another bold showing and Desert Man is a winner over this course and distance.

Tattersall’s Member’s Cup (1600m)

Impasse is yet to win over 1600m but gets his chance here on the back of a last start second over 1400m at Eagle Farm. The Matthew Dunn trained Impasse has drawn a nice barrier and is certain to be given every chance by in-form jockey Robbie Fradd. Magnufighter is a winner over this course and distance and is getting closer to the winner’s stall with a fourth and a third from his last two starts. Gresham put in a shocker as the favourite last start but is worth another chance and New Universe goes up 1kg for his last start win over 1600m at Eagle Farm.

Race 9 - 5:40pm

Class 6 Handicap (1350m)

Tokoriki Lad found the drop back in class to his liking when runner up last start in a 1400m Eagle Farm BenchMark 85 Handicap and has each way claims again. Femme Fireball will appreciate apprentice Adin Thompson’s 3kg claim and we can expect a better showing than her last start seventh in an Eagle Farm Class 6. Winter Passage was lining up for her fourth straight win but could only manage a fifth as favourite in an Eagle Farm Class 6 but is worth another chance and Natch produced his best run for a while with a last start third in a 1200m Doomben Class 6.
