QTIS 2yo Handicap (1200m)

Sassy Enuff was beaten less than a length last start when fourth in a 1200m Doomben mid-week two year old Handicap on March 18 and with the blinkers going on she has a good has a good each way chance at double figure odds. The Chris Waller trained Clairvue Star scored on debut at the Doomben mid-weeks on a heavy track and is sure to make his presence felt again. Snappy Reply gets her chance at a Saturday race after winning a Sunshine Coast two year old Maiden on debut and Minjee can’t be left out with the Robert Heathcote in great form.

BenchMark 70 Handicap (2200m)

Kellstorm will appreciate the drop in class and with apprentice Nick Keal’s 3kg claim, the Kris Lees trained seven year old should figure in the finish. Royal Atom has been thereabouts over a middle distance journey at his last two starts with a third and a fourth over 2200m and 2425m at Eagle Farm in BenchMark 75 Handicaps and can’t be left out. Populist comes to town after winning a 2200m Class 1 Plate at the Sunshine Coast and Calibration is one for the exotics.

Open Handicap (2200m)

Mawaany Machine is a winner over 2400m so he will have no trouble stepping up from 1830m to the 2200m this week following his second at Eagle Farm. Mongolian Wolk was a Doomben winner over 2000m two starts back before finishing seventh in an 1800m Handicap at the Gold Coast Metro Meeting on March 14 and has claims returning to Doomben. Raqeeq has been around the mark with two wins and a placing from his last three starts at Canterbury, Eagle Farm and Doomben and Eric The Eel can’t be left out on his last start third at the Gold Coast.

BenchMark 70 Handicap (1600m)

Coastal Prince was a winner over this course and distance two starts back before finishing fourth over similar distance at Doomben and can be in the finish again with a nice run from a midfield draw. Staying Black has finished in the runner’s up stall at his last three starts at the Sunshine Coast twice and Eagle Farm and can figure amongst the prizemoney again. Downloading is a two times winner over this course and distance and La Jument gets his chance to atone after being beaten as favourite in an Eagle Farm 1500m Class 3 Plate last start.

Class 6 Plate (1050m)

Royal Witness has solid Southern form with a third at Randwick in a 1000m BenchMark 88 Handicap followed by a second in a 1000m Canberra Open and looks well placed here. Desert Man is a two times winner over this course and distance and has a handy second up record. I’ve Gotta Nel has finished just out of the placings at his last two starts and has drawn the rails and Raiden can put in a good fresh performance.

F&M BenchMark 78 Handicap (1350m)

Lashoni has earned his spot on the Saturday circuit with a last start win over this course and distance at the mid-weeks and has a great chance to score back to back wins. Joymaker is fitter for one run back from a spell and is a winner over this course and distance. Princess Cavallo also has two wins over the Doomben 1350m trip including a win two starts back before her last start second at the Sunshine Coast and Seentoomany can run a handy race on her day.

Race 7 - 3:42pm

0MW Handicap (1200m)

Heritage Sash scored an all the way win as the odds on favourite at the Gold Coast last start and deserves his chance in the city. Gypsy Toff is chasing a hat trick after wins at the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast and is among the chances again. Weboughtazou comes to town on the back of a Class 5 win at the Sunshine Coast and All Pluck has some second up form.

Race 8 - 4:18pm

C,G & E BenchMark 78 Handicap (1350m)

Magic Fox is fitter for a first up third on a heavy track in a Gold Coast BenchMark 72 Handicap and as won second up in the past. Mr Bellagio put in an improved effort last start for a second over this course and distance and a repeat effort will put him right in this. Motion Granted got the money at big odds at the Gold Coast last start and gets his chance back in town and Qiji Phoenix has consistent form with three placings from his last three starts at Eagle Farm and looks suited here.

Race 9 - 5:00pm

QTIS 3yo Handicap (1350m)

Stampe has good recent form with a win and two placings from his last three starts, his latest a second in the 1200m 3yo Jewel at the Gold Coast a fortnight ago and gets his chance to find the winner’s stall again. Guntantes is fitter for one run back from a break and is a winner over this course and distance. Ballistic Boy is a last start Eagle Farm winner in this class but is up in the weights again and Vanna Girl has won her last two outings in Metro class at the Sunshine Coast and Eagle Farm and can be included among the chances.
