2012 – Dunaden wins Caulfield Cup
Dunaden showed yet again just why he was amongst the world’s best gallopers at the time with a dominant staying performance to win the 2012 Caulfield Cup.
This win continued the French stallion’s Australian dominance, adding a Caulfield Cup along with wins in the Geelong and Melbourne Cups in 2011.
It would also be jockey Craig Williams second successive Caulfield Cup win having saluted on 2011 winner Southern Speed.
It was one of the great rides.
Dunaden was settled at the tail of the field from the wide gate, as Williams bided his time before unleashing a powerful finishing run passing the local galloper Alcopop by half a length.
Ladbrokes own Peter Moody’s trained Lights of Heaven, fought hard to finish third.
2004 – Red Sox Complete Post Season Miracle
The Boston Red Sox defeated the New York Yankees 10-3 at Yankee Stadium to complete the biggest comeback in post-season history, having been 3-0 down in the series to clinch the American League Championship.
Outfielder Johnny Damon hit 2 home runs for Boston, including a grand slam for the Red Sox.
Boston went on to sweep the St Louis Cardinals 4-0 in the World Series.
