European Football Preview – October 24/25

El Classico headlines this weekend’s footballing action with Spain’s two powerhouse clubs set to face off at the Nou Camp.

That’s just part of the action though with the big leagues delivering some big clashes with some clubs backing up after the first matchday of European competition.

We’re scouring the continent to find the best bets and have zeroed in on our top five for you right here!

Bayern Munich Vs Eintracht Frankfurt

Sunday 25 October, 12:30am, Allianz arena

Bayern is almost unstoppable at the moment, winning 22 of their last 24 Bundesliga matches and flying in both the domestic cup and Champions League.

This is simply down to deciding how much Bayern will win this match by.

Four of the last six head to head matches have been won by Bayern by multiple goals and they should have no trouble winning this one comfortably.

FC Barcelona Vs Real Madrid

Sunday 25 October, 1:00am, Nou Camp

You may not watch a whole lot of La Liga but this is the one fixture you have to make the effort to tune into at any opportunity.

The general rule with these blockbuster clashes is to expect it to turn into a war of attrition instead of a free flowing spectacle.

Barcelona might have found their scoring touch against Ferencvaros in the Champions League midweek but that has not been the case in La Liga recently, being held scoreless by Getafe and putting just one past Sevilla.

Real have lost their last two and are not in anything resembling top gear either.

With both sides desperate for a win, they will likely set up not to lose and as such, there’s good value in the unders play.

Sevilla FC Vs Eibar

Sunday 25 October, 3:30am, Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán

Sevilla might not be the highest scoring team in La Liga, but at home they are a tough out, unbeaten in their last 14 matches at their stadium.

This one will be a case of first team to score wins and with the confidence of a midweek draw at Stamford Bridge to carry into this contest, Sevilla should get the job done.

After all, Eibar have won just once this season and that was against Valladolid who are stuck without a victory this season.

Cadiz Vs Villareal

Monday 26 October, 2:30am, Estadio Ramón de Carranza

If you search hard enough, you can find some strange statistical anomalies and there’s one to back here.

Cadiz have started the season well, climbing up to fifth place on the back of three wins, except they have taken one point from three matches at home.

Maybe it has something to do with playing in front of an empty arena or they get a bit complacent in the familiar surrounds of the Estadio Ramón de Carranza.

Either way, it’s enough for me to feel pretty good about and with Villareal at that price, I’ll happily jump on that option.

SS Lazio Vs Bologna

Sunday 25 October, 5:45am, Stadio Olimpico

Neither side is in overly encouraging form at the moment but that just means there is value to be found in this Serie A contest.

After seeing Lazio dismantle Dortmund during the week, this was a match I sought out with an eye on capitalising on their momentum.

Considering Bologna have gone over eight years without a win over their hosts, and Lazio won the last meeting last season, there’s only one play to take here.
