PUNTERS PAL

The Melbourne Storm were actually a winning result for the bookies in head to head betting, but they were a very big winner for punters at the line.

Ladbrokes clients flocked in from everywhere to take the Storm as 2-point favourites and given they went to the break 26-0 up, the result hardly ever looked in doubt.

BOOKIES BEST

The NRL Grand Final well and truly fell in favour of the bookies, but the Storm winning the match proved to be the single best result for the book.

We took a live bet of $100K on the Panthers at $3 which well and truly bolstered the result.

FIRST TRY FILL UP

There wasn’t one.

Both the Storm and the Panthers boast plenty of try scoring weapons, and an even spread of interest across both backlines meant that Justin Olam’s 3rd-minute four-pointer was also a winning result for the book.

LEGENDARY LAND

Finding a few anytime try scorers has proven to be a lucrative betting play in 2020, and this week’s Legendary Land goes to a punter who found four in the Grand Final!

Our punter in question selected Brian To’o, Josh Mansour, Justin Olam and Stephen Crichton to score tries, as well as Melbourne to win by 1-12.

Offered odds of $135.96, our punter laid down $250 and must have been beside himself when the Storm went to the break 26-0 up.

Alas, the Panthers rallied in the second half and helped our punter land a life-changing $33,990!

BACKING THE FUTURE

The season has drawn to a close and all 2020 NRL Futures bets have been settled.

A special mention to one Ladbrokes punter who backed the Storm to win the 2020 Premiership at the conclusion of the 2019 season – he had $850 on Bellamy’s boys at odds of $7.

Panthers – $5
Roosters – $6
Storm – $7
Rabbitohs – $7
