Melbourne Cup Day Tips – Best Away From Flemington
Doomben - Race 5 2:51pm AEDT
No. 7 Don'tdie Wondering
The lightly raced four year old mare Don’tdie Wondering resumed with a nice third on the Sunshine Coast over 1000m.
She has had a month in between runs and drops 2.5kgs for this assignment from the inside draw.
She has a win on the soft track should they get some rain in Brisbane and looks a touch of overs at around $7.00.
Doomben - Race 6 3:32pm AEDT
No. 9 Purrfect Deal
Purrfect Deal was a dominant winner at the Gold Coast at her second run this prep, scoring by 4.5 lengths over 1400m.
The lightly raced four year old mare has now won two of her four career starts and looks to have a fair amount of upside.
The daughter of Dundeel will appreciate the step up in distance at this stage in her career and she has been well supported in betting suggesting she will run well.
Randwick - Race 5 2:40pm AEDT
No. 10 Perfect Radiance
The Kris Lees trained Perfect Radiance is my best bet away from Flemington this Melbourne Cup Day.
The three year old filly by Snitzel has won two of her three career starts including a first up victory at Newcastle this prep.
She had one go on the heavy track and was beaten in an open class race behind the very smart Peltzer.
This is a much easier task than that one and she should prove too classy for her rivals.
Randwick - Race 7 4:00pm AEDT
No. 5 Invinctus Salute
Invictus Salute has been excellent in her two runs so far this prep, finishing within two lengths at both Group 2 and Group 3 level.
This is the easiest race she has contested in some time and I like the fact that she has had a trial in between runs.
She has proven that she can handle all conditions and Rachel King will no doubt give her a perfect steer from the tricky gate.
