Daily Racing Tips – Thursday 7th January

Geelong - Race 5 2:30pm AEDT

No. 5 Spensierato

Spensierato absolutely loves racing in the wet as she heads into this contest rock hard fit and ready to win.

She’s been incredibly unlucky not to score in her last two runs finishing a nose second on both occasions and the step back to the 1435m should suit.

Rhys McLeod knows her inside and out and he appears to have plenty of options from the soft draw.

No. 10 Soul Obsession

Soul Obsession is one of the few horses in this field with some wet track form to her name.

She returned to the races in great order first-up at Mornington where she found the line for second and is sure to take great improvement into this contest under the experienced hands of Damien Thornton.

Barrier seven should have her tracking the speed and if she can box on like she did last time out she should be somewhere in the photo.

Doomben - Race 6 4:05pm AEDT

No. 1 Mangione

There looks to be a fair bit of speed in this race and that should suit Mangione’s racing style perfectly.

He did enormously well to overcome the wide draw first-up to finish third over shorter, and the step up to the mile gets a big tick with a win and two placings on the board.

The five-year-old by Fiorente likes to get back and run on, so the top weight doesn’t look a problem providing Luke Dittman has him close enough to strike.

Doomben - Race 7 4:45pm AEDT

No. 6 Our Fraulein

Our Fraulein raced well last week over the track and distance where she made up a stack of ground from the rear of the field to run third.

The Snitzel mare will race on the short backup for the first time in her career and she’s drawn to get a very favourable run in transit from barrier 4.

Aside from a total forgive run to starts ago at Eagle Farm, her form this time in work has been exceptional and she should be bursting onto the scene late once agian.
