Daily Racing Tips – Saturday 9th January
Randwick - Race 6 3:20pm AEDT
No. 7 Handspun
Handspun is the value runner in this field with some strong wet track form to her name.
The Godolphin mare hasn’t been seen at the races since last July, but the way she trailed at Hawkesbury last month suggests she might run a big race here.
She tends to fly fresh and almost never runs a bad race over this trip. The light weight of Kerrin McEvoy should have her right in the finish.
Flemington - Race 5 3:40pm AEDT
No. 4 Malicorne
Malicorne thrashed them first-up at Moonee Valley over further and she’s drawn to get another gun run under Mark Zahra from the inside alley.
She comes into this off a three-week freshen-up and looks a major player if she can tuck in just off the speed.
Providing Zahra has her close enough in the late stages, she should prove too good late.
Flemington - Race 6 4:20pm AEDT
No. 3 Mosh Music
Mosh Music finished off well for sixth in the Listed Lord Stakes at Caulfield where she clocked the fastest final 600m splits of the day.
She gets to the right race now over her preferred distance and the extra weight off her back under Jordan Childs is a huge plus.
She has been up for a while, but recent form reads well for this contest with two wins to her name over this trip.
Gold Coast - Race 6 5:25pm AEDT
No. 3 Prometheus
Prometheus was unlucky not to gain a start last week in The Buffering, but this does look another winnable race for the Snitzel gelding.
He was brilliant first-up at this venue winning by a length over the 1200m and his last start fifth in the Listed Lough Neagh Stakes at Doomben suggests he should see out the extra trip just fine.
The seven-year-old made up big ground last start, and with even luck, he should be finishing strongly once again.
