Daily Racing Tips – Sunday 10th January

Sunshine Coast - Race 2 1:45pm AEDT

No. 4 Iced

Iced is making real headway towards another win after finding the placings in each of his last two starts at Ipswich.

This is his first look at the Sunshine Coast, but he should be able to run a big race here from the inside draw under Ryan Maloney.

The four-year-old maps to get a lovely run just off the speed and he should be finishing off strongly in this small field.

Sunshine Coast - Race 4 3:00pm AEDT

No. 2 Coastal Boy

Coastal Boy was nailed right on the line last start at Ipswich beyond the mile after running a big race up front.

The step back to the 1400m looks to be a smart move and it’s likely Michael Rodd has him settling a little further off the pace this time around.

He’s had a decent gap between runs heading into this race and is also a four-time winner on the Sunshine Coast.

Sunshine Coast - Race 5 3:40pm AEDT

No. 5 Sethlans

Sethlans has raced well without winning this prep and there’s no doubt his maiden win is right around the corner.

The son of Lonhro was unlucky not to score two runs back on the wet track at the Gold Coast and he nearly went one better last time out over this track and trip when a nose second to Red River Lad.

He’s had to overcome some sticky draws in his last two runs and looks poised to strike now from barrier four.

Sunshine Coast - Race 6 4:19pm AEDT

No. 14 Maestoso

Maestoso won well on debut over this track and distance last month and was far from disgraced when third in BM65 grade second-up behind the winner Chivargo.

This is easier now, and the three-year-old by More Than Ready should be able to run another big race from the soft draw.

Apprentice Stephanie Thornton has been in good form of late and the light weight of 54.5kg is a big plus.
