Daily Racing Tips – Black Caviar Lightning Stakes Special
by Thomas Hackett
Flemington - Race 5 2:45pm AEDT
No. 1 Personal
Personal will return to the races, for the first time since her win in the VRC Oaks, in The Vanity and she is great value at her current price.
There is no doubt that she will be better over further and will take improvement from this run, but she has run well over 1400 metres in the past and she is the class filly in this field.
Flemington - Race 8 4:45pm AEDT
No. 2 Bivouac
Bivouac went to another level during the 2020 Spring Racing Carnival and his three and a half lengths victory in the Darley Sprint Classic was one of the most impressive of the year.
He has already recorded two Group 1 wins down the Flemington straight and the expected tempo in this race will suit him.
Royal Randwick - Race 7 5:05pm AEDT
No. 1 Kolding
It is Veryy Elleegant that has opened as favourite, but Kolding ticks plenty of boxes heading into the Apollo Stakes.
Kolding returned to the races with a fast-finishing effort in the Expressway Stakes and that gives him a clear fitness edge over his main rivals in this race.
He has recorded five wins from his 11 race starts at Royal Randwick and he maps to get a lovely run in transit with Hugh Bowman in the saddle.
Royal Randwick - Race 8 5:40pm AEDT
No. 1 Away Game
This is a fascinating edition of the Light Fingers Stakes and the fitness edge of Away Game should prove vital.
She had excuses when she was beaten in both the Gold Edition Plate and the Magic Millions Guineas, while she has recorded two wins from as many starts at Royal Randwick.
Hugh Bowman will settle her right on the speed and she is well-placed to return to winning form.
