European Football Preview – March 13

European football action continues around the continent with plenty of teams primed to make a move in the coming weeks.

As we enter the home stretch and desperation becomes the prevailing emotion for several clubs, there will be value aplenty on offer for punters that can find the best bets.

We are doubling down on La Liga and the Bundesliga plus paying a quick visit to Serie A as we find the best value across the top footballing leagues in the world.

Alaves Vs Cadiz

Sunday 14 March, 12:00am, Estadio Medizorrotza

Cadiz might not be setting the world alight this season but I like their chances of getting by relegation threatened Alaves here.

Alaves has lost its last four matches by a combined score of 13-3 and sits two points and two positions off safety.

Cadiz won the first meeting between these sides 3-1 with the match being swung after Tachi’s red card early in the second half.

There is no good reason for Alaves to be such strong favourites on the basis of their recent form and I’ll take them on here.

Mainz Vs Freiburg

Sunday 14 March, 1:30am, Open Arena

If history is anything to go by, we should be very happy to know that this match will produce a winner one way or another.

The last 10 times these teams have faced off in the Bundesliga, there have been no draws.

Mainz has taken eight points from its last five matches and now sits just three points off safety with ten matches to play.

Despite last weekend’s stumble against Schalke, I still like what I’ve seen in Mainz’s form line and I’ll back them to pick up another three points.

Back Mainz to Win @ $2.55

Union Berlin Vs FC Koln

Sunday 14 March, 1:30am, Stadion An der Alten Försterei

Union Berlin is enjoying a phenomenal season and have only tasted defeat five times.

That is a big reason why they are still eyeing off potential qualification for European football and four matches without defeat has them as clear favourites for this match.

On top of Union Berlin’s stubbornness, Koln have been struggling lately having gone four matches without a win and they are still very much battling for survival.

This fixture means a lot more to Union Berlin and I’ll back them to come away with all three points.

Genoa Vs Udinese

Sunday 14 March, 6:45am, Stadio Luigi Ferraris

Genoa has gone on an impressive run to give themselves some breathing room in the last two months, picking up 13 points in their last nine Serie A matches.

Their only defeats in that run have come against Roma and Inter Milan, and with all due respect to Udinese, they are far from that level.

The visitors in this contest have gone four matches without tasting defeat and should present a tough test in this mid-table clash.

I can’t split these sides on paper and can’t see the scoreboard looking all that different.

Back the Draw @ $3.00

Sevilla Vs Real Betis

Monday 15 March, 7:00am, Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan

March has not been kind to Sevilla with the side going winless in their last four matches and they are now teetering on the verge of falling out of Spain’s top four.

Betis on the other hand has won its last four matches and could close the gap on Sevilla to just three points.

I’ll back the in form side that is not coming off a midweek Champions League tie to come away with an upset.

This is going to be a lot closer than what the market is giving out at the moment.

Back Real Betis to Win @ $3.75
